iOS has a gorgeous method for showing us our photographs – just double-tap to enlarge and swipe right or left to scroll through each one. While it looks great, it does fail to give us information about our photographs. This is exactly what a new free jailbreak tweak called Photo Info by iOS developer Yandong Wang tries to fix.

After installing Photo Info, you will begin seeing a brand new button in the Camera Roll interface. ...

iOS 6 brought tinted status bars that match the surrounding colors of the application and some people are not so sure if they like it that much. For those of you that aren’t sold on that new feature, iOS hacker and developer Ryan Petrich has released a new free jailbreak tweak called AntiTint. As shown above, the tweak will disable the tinted status bar and just make it black everywhere that it would usually change colors.

    AntiTint will ...

If you love custom animations, then you’re going to enjoy this new jailbreak tweak called AquaBoard - Water Effects by iOS developer Elias Limneos. AquaBoard will add a realistic-looking liquid animation to the lock screen (plugged in or not) and the home screen. It is very cool and comes with some customization options to make it even cooler.

When you install the tweak, you will see immediately what the tweak does; it responds to your touch. You can tap, swipe, or twirl your finger in ...

A few million people got an iPhone 5 this morning.

We're betting some of you are looking to unlock it - whether for resale value down the road, or to use a foreign SIM in the iPhone already (good luck though - your carrier will need a compatible nano-SIM).

There's an abundance of sites offering unlocks. Some are legit, some are scams. We have used various ones in the past, and thought we'd share a couple we recommend now since iPhone 5 support has just been added (note - these services unlock other iPhones as well - 3G, 3G[S], 4, 4S).

Neither of these services require a ...

There are lots of custom iPhone companies (you know - glowing light mods, wooden backs, crazy colors) out there, but iFixDirect has been our favorite for a while. We chatted with Mike from iFixDirect recently, and he sent us some examples of the custom work they're doing. It's good stuff!

We've checked out some of their work (like their iPhone color kits) in the past, and thought we'd highlight some of their custom mods.

NOTE: While we checked out their iPhone 4S mods, they've got a great selection of stuff ready for iPhone 5 as well!

In the middle of May, ModMyi showed you a free jailbreak tweak for iOS 5 called DoNotDisturb by iOS developer Rudolf Lichtner that brought an iOS 6-like “Do Not Disturb” feature to iOS 5. The tweak would effectively suppress notifications from your device so you could sleep well at night or so that you could sit through a class without your phone going off and attracting all that unnecessary attention.

Today, Rudolf has released DoNotDisturb 2, ...

Just this week, Google launched a standalone YouTube application for free in the iOS App Store because Apple has axed the mobile YouTube application from iOS 6.

In the opinion of many iOS users, the new and free YouTube application is much better, more feature-filled, and more attractive than Apple’s native YouTube application. For iOS 6 users, the YouTube application is much faster and smoother than looking at YouTube from a window in Mobile Safari. That being ...

There's been great debate whether an iPhone can be considered a 'serious photography' tool. If you come down on the side against, go talk to K-Tek - hopeful makers of the Quarter20 Aluminum Tripod Mount Case (Kickstarter Campaign until 9-17-2012) - they'll probably change your mind!

The iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 have amazing 8-megapixel cameras in an extremely portable package, but in order to use them for anything more serious than family snapshots, you need a tripod mount and a strong protective case.

K-Tek has stepped out into the market with lots of experience manufacturing audio and camera accessories. They sent us a prototype Quarter20 case for the iPhone 4/4S and it's nothing short of solid, industrial-strength design.

Cover Flow can sometimes be an annoying part of listening to Music when you’re using your iPhone or iPod because if you just tilt the device just a little bit (such as when laying down), you’re suddenly in an interface you may not have intended to be in. If you’re not one to enjoy having Cover Flow as a method of listening to music on your iPhone or iPod, then there’s a new free jailbreak tweak in Cydia today called NoCoverFlow by iOS hacker and developer Ryan Petrich ...
