Solid state drives are amazing drive replacements for hard disk drives. They have awesome read and write speeds, they are durable, and they use less energy. The large misconception is that they last forever. Just like a hard disk drive, a solid state drive is susceptible to degrading with use. They must be maintained just like a hard disk drive must be. In the last couple of years, our understanding of how the solid ...

Redsn0w 0.9.9b9b is the new redsn0w released today. Here's a guide on using it.

We reported earlier today that the Dev-Team Blog was updated with links for the new redsn0w 0.9.9b9b which came with a myriad of new features succeeding the previous version like the ability to point to the iOS 5.0.1 firmware instead of the iOS 5.0 firmware when booting tethered or jailbreaking. This updated version of redsn0w will work on the updated 8GB iPhone 4's that are sold by CDMA carriers and GSM carriers alike following the release of the iPhone 4S. For ...

One feature of Cydia jailbreaking newcomers may not know about is using it as a way to report bugs and crashes to the developers who upload their creations. If you're having trouble with a tweak you install and it frustrates you, all you have to do is tap a button and follow a couple of steps to tell the developer about it so hopefully they can fix it.

This guide is intended for beginner level jailbreakers and will show you how to email a developer to report bugs and issues with their ...

Once you've built your iOS 5.0 custom firmware, downgrading is easy.

As I reported earlier this week, iH8sn0w released iFaith version 1.4 which allows you to save your iOS 5.0 SHSH blobs and APticket so that you can create a custom iOS 5.0 firmware file to use in downgrading your iDevice back to iOS 5.0. The guide on saving your iOS 5.0 SHSH blobs and APticket can be read here. iFaith works with iOS 5.0.1 too. But since people are nervous that the Chronic Dev Team's untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 might not work with iOS 5.0.1, there is all the more reason to just play it safe and get insurance for iOS 5.0 as I like to call it. Since we just posted ...
