With the release of iOS 5 Beta 2, jailbreak hackers are on the move again to release jailbreak clients to support iOS 5 Beta 2. iH8sn0w (@iH8sn0w) released sn0wbreeze 2.8 Beta 3 to support jailbreaks on iOS 5 Beta 2. MuscleNerd (@MuscleNerd) and the iPhone Dev-Team said yesterday on Twitter saying that the redsn0w beta for iOS 5 Beta 1 (for Mac and Windows) still works for Beta 2. However, when speaking with iH8sn0w on Skype, here's the difference:

Back in full force, your weekly update on what's new and hot in Cydia. Today we've got WiFiBooster, AirServer, SMSEnhancer, Homescreen Settings and iFinder.

    WiFi Booster
    Malcolm Hall

This is one of my favorite new tweaks as far as WiFi tweaks go. WiFi Booster is a tweak design to improve the native settings app designated for WiFi. The tweak adds additional information to WiFi information, and allows you to see all networks in range by removing the signal level limit. Much like what you see in apps like WiFiFoFum, this allows you to access many more networks than normal. Granted most may not work, however its nice and tidy tucked away ...

Research firm comScore released a new service called "Device Essentials" which allows digital traffic to be monitored by device, and according to their study the iPad is responsible for 89% of tablet internet traffic.

I guess Jobs wasn't too far off with his greater than 90% of the market comments.

The study analyzed the amount of non-computer traffic in a number of countries as well. Canada ...

There are already tweaks in Cydia Store such as MarkThatMessage and Cyntact that offer services that give you contact photos and timestamps. Cyntact however is just for the Contacts.app and MarkThatMessage is strictly for the Messages.app. SMSEnhancer takes both those features and incorporates them into one and places it into the Messages.app.

SMSEnhancer, by Alexandros Melakis (@melakis), tweaks the Messages.app conversation windows to show timestamps and contact photos of those in the ...

A recent article from iLounge indicates that one of the major reasons for the relatively low amount of peripherals that implement the two most significant Apple standards released this year, AirPlay which debuted back in September 2010, and Thunderbolt, which first arrived on the Mac with the release of the revised MacBook Pro in February, may be from the high price Apple demands in licensing these ...

Even with all the hideous backlash Apple is currently taking from video professionals for its newest Final Cut software, if you are simply a 'prosumer' and want to try at hand at the latest Final Cut, but don't quite meet those pesky minimum requirements on your current Mac, all is not lost, a workaround has been discovered.

Final Cut Pro X requires users to be on a Mac that ...

I never bought a case for my first iPhone back in 2007, but I did smack a screen protector on before even leaving the Apple Store. Apparently, I'd be viewed as a minimalist compared to most mobile phone owners.

Geekaphone has done it again. This time they used some data collection and analysis wizardry to dissect the phenomena of mobile phone accessories.

In the last nine months $497 million has been ...

The backlash against Apple's new version of Final Cut Pro has been harsh to say the least in the 48 hours since FCP X's release. It stands as the most poorly rated piece of first-party software in the online Apple store, and has been pegged as "iMovie Pro" by many professionals.

Whether the ribbing is warranted or not is a long discussion tailored for another time (this video editor think it is), ...

Apple just released iOS 5 beta 2 for those fortunate enough to have a developer account. Or those of you who care enough to find the firmware through the necessary back channels.

The release notes from Apple highlight only one new known feature, the ability to finally sync your iDevice wirelessly via Wi-Fi syncing. The beta is available for the iPPhone 4, 3GS, 4th Gen iPod Touch, iPad, ...

If youíre planning on going somewhere really remote this summer and wonít have access to any AC outlets while youíre away, then you might want to consider bringing along a solar panel to recharge all of your portable devices. Apple is continuing it's rapid global retail expansion this fall as the company is readying its first major retail location in Hong Kong. Given Apple's surging popularity across Asia, the move into Hong Kong not only seems like a well-advised move, it also stands to be a highly profitable one for Apple.

According to published reports surfacing Friday, the store planned for Hong Kong will ...

According to the uploader, RazorianFly, the video above was found on Skype's website this morning, before it was abruptly removed, so the story goes. The video, if it turns out to be legitimate, indicates that Skype may finally be releasing a version of it's hit video-chat software for Apple's tablet.

We don't have much more information, although we are hopeful that this video ...
