    Sometimes, good things come early.

On Monday, reported that rumors and rumblings from around the Apple world suggested the company would begin selling unlocked iPhone 4's beginning Wednesday. As it turned out, however, Apple pulled the trigger even sooner than anyone expected, making the unlocked GSM iPhone 4 available early this morning through the company's online store.

    This reality ...

Nokia and Apple have finally reached an agreement that will settle an ongoing legal dispute over patent violations. Under the terms of the agreement Apple will pay Nokia an undisclosed one time payment as well as ongoing royalties.

While the International Trade Commission initially ruled Apple did not infringe on Nokia's patents, later in April the ITC voiced its support for Nokia, creating ...

Who thought Apple's cash mountain that is the iTunes and App Store would be a break even business?

Honestly I never really took Apple's claims that the iTunes and App Store didn't generate much profit, but Asymco blogger Horace Dediu crunched some very convincing numbers using data published by Apple during last weeks WWDC.

Apple has estimated their digital store downloads have reached 15 billion songs, 130 million ...

No, it isn't the name of Congressman Anthony Weiner's forthcoming autobiography. Instead, it appears that the name of an iOS game in the Japanese App Store somehow got lost in translation when viewed via the usually reliable but sometimes hilariously-wrong service we all know and love - Google Translate.

Thanks to the not-so-smooth translation from Japanese to English, the App Store is ...

I can't help but feel there isn't enough creativity in the iDevice Dock market. Sure many of the docks look rather futuristic, and perform their advertised duties well, but very few take the aesthetic leap of faith into new and creative designs.

The above dock by iLive takes that leap of faith and lands rather gracefully. In lieu of a digital display with boring easy to read ...

Apple has seeded yet another beta (Build 10K537) of Mac OS X 10.6.8 to it's dedicated community of developers. The new build packs it's usual weight of around 1 GB and is the first to hit developers since WWDC ended last week. Three weeks has passed since the last build was seeded.

As with the last batch of builds, today's build is said to have no known issues.

    Developers ...

The highly acclaimed application by CocoaNuts (@cocoanutsapps), Celeste Bluetooth File Transfer, will soon added to Cydia on its new updated version soon. For those who don't know what Celeste is, it is an application that allows the transfer of photos and files between iDevices, other mobile phones, and even Mac/PC using Bluetooth. Apple has not implemented anything of this nature yet so it is a one of a kind feature and application.

This release is monumental because it fixes ...

So much for the iPad not being able to make real true-to-life phone calls over a cellular network.

iPhoneIslam, the same guys who developed the FaceTime 3G app, have released a hack today that allows 3G iPad users to make voice-calls and send text messages over a 3G network.

Users will need to use a 3G sim card (the standard data SIM AT&T provides iPad owners wont work), and then download the app ...

Macbook Air supplies are low, and rumors are swirling about the imminent product refresh this Wednesday. Turns out unlocked iPhone 4s (iPhones sold without being chained to a carrier or contract) will join the fray.

You can thank Twitter user Chronic for starting this one. Chronic who has a solid track record breaking Apple related news vias his Twitter account tweeted Sunday:

iOS developers dig Android. That's the crux of a new survey taken at Apple's WWDC last week. Interestingly enough, close to half - 47% to be exact - of iOS devs surveyed admitted to supporting the Android platform. By comparison, only 7% of devs write Mac apps. Still, a solid number of developers questioned - 36% in all - develop exclusively for iOS.

The survey I'm referencing comes to ...

An epic battle among online music giants may soon commence in the US. It now appears that a European heavyweight in digital music is coming to the US after months of rumors suggesting such a launch is ultimately inevitable. According to a report this morning in the Wall Street Journal, Spotify may launch in the US as early as July.

Why the sudden expansion into the US? It looks like a new distribution agreement ...

Reports surfaced Monday that Sprint has entered into an active test phase for the next generation iPhone - the so-called iPhone 4S. All signs now point to a September release of the the 5th generation handset which is now almost universally believed to be a hybrid unit capable of working on both CDMA and GSM networks. If reports are accurate, the iPhone 4S would initially run on Sprint's 3G wireless network, ...
