Amazon is clearly sitting on what may very well be the worst kept secret in tech. Although CEO Jeff Bezos hasn't confirmed his company's forthcoming tablet, he's dropped enough hints for every tech reporter on the planet to stumble over. And based on the latest reports coming out of the far East, it looks like the unnamed Amazon tablet could reach consumers even before the iPhone 5 does this fall.

    DigiTimes reported ...

There are no shortage of music production applications available to iOS users' fingertips. I myself have used BeatMaker as a minor production tool to kill time while traveling during college. However, my first foray into production was during high school when a friend of mine showed me Fruity Loops. Sadly, it was a Windows only program.

However, that has now changed. Fruity Loops Mobile ...

iOS 5 is still a few months away, but that hasn't stoppe jailbreak developers from pouring through the new features of the iOS 5 beta and creating a bevy of tweaks. The new Notification Center seems to be at the forefront of these tweaks in the form of Widgets, and QuickComposer is something I can get behind.

QuickComposer's function is simple, using the notification center the widget ...

When it comes down to it, convenience and functionality is what makes many jailbreak applications and tweaks useful. Anything that makes what is done easier and more efficiently is key and popular. Of all the areas of iOS, a component that is generally focused on is the Mail.app.

There have been recurring complaints from Mail.app users as features are extremely limited. There is not much customization or settings that enhance and revamp your mail experience. One such application, Mail Enhancer, aims at fixing this issue.

    Mail ...

On Tuesday, we learned that Apple has lost another prominent executive - this time, John Herbold, the senior project manager of iCloud. According to a press release this afternoon from HealthTeacher, Herbold's new employer, the former Apple executive parted ways with his Cupertino colleagues earlier this month and has now come aboard a youth curriculum provider.

    "Most recently at Apple," ...

In February, we covered Piper Jaffray's bold speculation that Apple may finally be gearing up to introduce an entirely new product as soon as 2012. Piper analyst Gene Munster proposed that Apple would use a sizable chunk of its component investments to develop large screen displays, probably for a connected Apple television set of at least 50-inches.

"While Apple's commitment to the living room remains ...

Talk about getting started with a bang. According to the findings of a proprietary survey spearheaded by Mike Abramsky, a prominent analyst with RBC Capital Markets, more than three-quarters of iPhone owners will use Apple's iCloud on launch. Those figures were derived from a poll of 1,500 respondents earlier this month.

In other words, the forthcoming iCloud service could debut with a ...

Along with the announcement of Final Cut Pro X on the Mac App store, and the updates to Motion 5 and Compressor 4, Apple updated the support documents for these products, all the while telling early adopters to update to OS X 10.6.8, which would be simple enough, if it were available.

Now, with reports of problems on the new software, it would seem that 10.6.8, a ...

Samsung has now denied the claim made by an Apple attorney that high-level executives from the companies have met to try and resolve their mishmash of patent disputes.

The corporate spin continues between the two best frenemies in the tech industry.

"We are unaware of any meetings or discussions between the two sides over this matter," Samsung said in a statement to V3.co.uk. Sounds like a bunch of non-talk to me. ...

Not only has the iPhone 4 emerged as the most popular camera phone on Flickr, it is now the most popular camera used to upload images to the ever-popular web service. It ousted the Nikon D90 at the top, despite only being available to the public for a year (in the U.S., that is).

The news gets even better for Apple, as the second most popular camera phone on Flickr is none other than the iPhone ...

After presenting their quarterly numbers last Thursday, RIM has taken quick action in remedying their "challenging" quarter, which featured limited success for RIM's newest product, The BlackBerry PlayBook, and as reported earlier Josh, a drastic decline in smartphone market share. In the wake of this news, RIM has already started laying off employees.

Reports from Waterloo, Canada state that ...

The Federal Communications Commission has confirmed the imminent refresh of Apple's Airport Extreme product line by posting wireless test results for the device.

Per usual Apple filed a request to keep proprietary details confidential, which means the gritty details of the device aren't laid out in the filing. The device, referred to as model A1408, was tested using both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz ...
