Apple didn’t give a specific date for the release of OS X Lion at WWDC in June, simply stating that the newest version of Mac OS would arrive on the Mac App Store some time in July, now on this last day of June, certain outlets are suggesting that Apple will wait until the middle of the month to release the OS upgrade, and will do so alongside new MacBook Air models.

Along with the bevy of reports in the last forty-eight hours that many popular third-party Apple retailers were running extremely low on Apple’s consumer-level laptop, the MacBook, there are some reports that this supply constraint is not indicative of an upcoming refresh, but instead a planned discontinuation.

An argument can be made that if the entry-level MacBook Air, priced ...

The Notes.app is great for writing quick notes or ideas down for future reference. However, if you want to share the contents with other people/users, it is more difficult then it may appear. Having to select all, copy, and then paste in the respective place can be cumbersome. Also, if you have you a character limit ( i.e. Twitter) or want to make a URL of the contents, it adds much more clean-up on the wording and extra steps. Glue by Joshua Lee Tucker (@DarkMalloc) (not to be confused with me) adds a unique feature ...

Sometimes I wonder who on this beautiful and vast planet of ours is in charge of things at Best Buy. Whether it's blatantly lying to customers about a products functionality, or opening an Xbox 360, installing a firmware update, and then repackaging the system as "pre setup" and charging $30 more, they never cease to amaze me.

Which is why this shouldn't surprise me either.

The all-knowing sources from the far east are reporting that Apple is on track to see a massive shipment of iPads in the next quarter of 2011. Overseas suppliers project somewhere between 12 and 14 million units will be shipped during the quarter.

"In order to significantly increase its shipments in the third quarter," DigiTimes reports, "Apple has been piling up its inventory of iPad 2 ...

Usually when purchasing cables I shy away from name-brand anything. If anyone in a big-box retailer even begins to utter the the words "Monster Cab--," a swift gut-check mutes those horrible words from coming out of their mouth.

So I approached the pricing of Apples recently released Thunderbolt cable with the reluctant optimism of Charlie Brown trying to kick a football. Fifty dollars is large chunk of change ...

Catholics everywhere yearning for the official good news straight from the Vatican via Twitter. On a Holy iPad.

Seriously, Pope Benedict XVI tweeted for the first time ever using an iPad yesterday. What was the tweet you ask?

The site listed in the Pope's tweet is the new Vatican portal that fuses together a number of print and broadcast news streams into one site. Twitter wasn't ...

Take a moment to turn on your iPad, or more likely just hit the home button, and unlock the the device, because no one really turns their iPad off.

Mozy on down to The App Store icon, tap it with the capacitive touch stylus known as your finger, and search for any app. In the upper left hand corner you'll notice a little number showing you the total number of apps at 100,161. This doesn't include scaled up iPhone apps ...

It's hard to believe our little guy turned four years old today. It seems just like yesterday when we first held its little frame in our hands, nuzzled it to our face, and said how much we loved it. Yes, four years ago today, the original iPhone went on sale. And as illustrated by the topic trending on Twitter, a lot of folks are wishing their beloved smartphone a happy birthday tonight.

"This is a day I've been looking forward ...

It's not often I mention very many games that come from Cydia, but I got a kick out of this one. Velocity Apps has created an app for your jailbroken phone called Springboard Invaders, essentially turning your SpringBoard and icons into an arcade game inspired by Space Invaders.

Battle against your icons as they fall down the screen, using an classic styled shooter. Utilize the accelerometer ...

It's one of the hottest questions burning up the smartphone world today: what will the iPhone 5 look like? Will it be almost identical to the iPhone 4? Will it be radically different as some have predicted (but the evidence doesn't suggest)? So far, in the absence of a leaked device - a luxury we had the last time around - we've primarily been left to our imaginations in guessing what the next-generation iPhone will look like. ...
