Although there is little evidence to support the suspicion that the 5th generation iPhone will deliver LTE compatibility, it's all but inevitable that a future iPhone will. And if new reports that iPhone carriers are now actively testing a 4G-capable prototype, the eventuality referenced above may become reality much sooner than most anticipate.

According to our friends at BGR, Apple is, ...

Itís not too unusual to find an unreleased Apple prototype on eBay now and again, but recently a MacBook Pro was put up for sale with one unique feature, an integrated 3G cellular modem. A few years ago, Apple was rumored to be working on a 3G capable MacBook, but it was never released. It now seems evident that Apple has, at the very least, looked into the possibility of a producing a 3G equipped MacBook Pro.

    According ...

On Saturday, the world received an amazing new look at what the future home of Apple will look like.

City officials in Cupertino raised the curtain on images, details and renderings of the forthcoming 2.8 million square-foot circular office homestead that media reports have vastly likened to a ground-based spaceship. Among a veritable ocean of office space, the structure delivers a corporate auditorium capable ...

One of the factors that makes the jailbreak community great is the spontaneous nature of creating simple, free tweaks. The developers in this community always seem to have open ears and are looking for ways to make our lives much easier and our devices more useful. Plus, they give us the freedom to customize and change-up our devices however we wish by giving us many different options. However, this following situation of spontaneousness is probably one the most unique occurrences of this "phenomenon" in the history of the jailbreak ...

On Tuesday, MMi reported that Apple has been granted a preliminary injunction against Samsung's Android-based Galaxy Tab 10.1., the result of which leaves the tablet effectively barred from distribution across most of the European Union.

A few hours ago, the Wall Street Journal confirmed that Samsung will go to court on August 25th to appeal the aforementioned decision, which - for obvious reasons ...

Not to long ago, ModMyi covered a new application called KillBackground which allowed you to "kill" or remove all background programs in your AppSwitcher at once. Although there are many other applications on the market that perform a similar function, personal preference always wins out and having many simple, free options is not such a bad thing. The same developer behind KillBackground, Mathieu Bolard (@mattlawer), recently released an application called LSBattery that gives you a little customization ...

It's been about ten minutes since we reported on a lawsuit in which Apple is involved, so we're long over-due for this headline, it seems.

The latest legal snafu involving Apple has manifested in the form of a new class-action lawsuit which says Apple is among the companies that "conspired" with publishers HarperCollins, Hachette Book Group, Macmillan, Penguin and Simon & Schuster to dramatically escalate ...

Production is about to commence on the 5th generation iPhone, says a new report from an Apple-related news site in Asia (Macotakara.jp). If the report is accurate, the iPhone 5 - or iPhone 4S, perhaps - will begin rolling off the assembly lines in about three weeks.

For most of the year, we've been hearing that early fall would bring with it the long-awaited release of the next-gen handset, a reality that eluded us ...

With the release of JailbreakMe 3.0 and Apple's response, iOS has been updated twice in order to patch the JailbreakMe exploit and other vulnerabilities. As mentioned in the iOS 4.3.4 article, updating to iOS 4.3.4 is not recommended as it only fixes the PDF exploit that JailbreakMe used. From there, Apple once again released a new version, 4.3.5, to patch other issues that were found. Although redsn0w is now able to jailbreak both 4.3.4 and 4.3.5, it is also not recommended as you will have to deal with a tethered jailbreak.

    Now: In ...

In recent weeks, MMi has chronicled the ongoing saga of fake Apple stores popping up in limited quantity around China. So elaborate are the stores in their look and feel that it's nearly impossible to distinguish these clones from legitimate Apple retail stores.

Following a crack down earlier this summer, a handful of rip-off artists were shut down. But if you're under the impression that ...

The smartphone world is dominated by two platforms - Android and iOS. And it doesn't appear the two giants will be doing serious battle with anyone other than themselves for the foreseeable future - that's according to the latest research from advisory firm Gartner.

Google and Apple are the big winners in the smartphone ecosystem, Gartner declares. The combined share of iOS and Android in the smartphone ...

Apple's ability to throw around its massive cash horde and exercise some truly incredible purchasing power has forced MacBook Air competitors to find alternatives to metal for their ultrabook chassises.

Earlier this year Intel released guidelines to producing ultraportable laptops (ultrabooks), with a major part of the guidelines being a "unibody-based magnesium-aluminum ...
