Adam Richardson of CNET sounds like a lot of my closest friends these days.

Unfortunately, Richardson and this growing band of iPhone malcontents are bouncing back to the BlackBerry after flirting once more with Apple's iPhone. And the more I look around, the more I hear people entertaining the possibility of the switch. But why?

The BlackBerry, of course, has a burgeoning reputation as the serious ...

Just submitted to Apple as a bug, rpetrich (developer of the ActionMenu packages in Cydia) discovered an interesting security bug in the iPhone firmware.

If a password is inputted in a field, shake to undo, and you will be able to see the character you are deleting. Simply repeat this for every character, and you have the password.

Obviously this isn't an issue that would be useful for those with a criminal ...

Images of an iPod Touch leaked to the blog of XM talk show hosts Covino and Rich and MacRumors last month showed a camera near the top of the device, in exactly the location of the 6x6x3mm cavity on the released Touch.

A comparison of the leaked images of the device's internals with the iFixit teardown, meanwhile, shows that the leak was genuine. So it seems clear that Apple ...

eWeek is out this morning with a report indicating that Apple will likely continue their exclusive relationship with AT&T.

Although this news isn't exactly what many iPhone fans want to hear, our attention was certainly roused by the prospect of Apple doing business with Verizon elsewhere. What does that mean, exactly? For now, the only feasible guess is that Apple would partner with Verizon on another ...

This morning, NBC News picked up on what, at first, was a small news story earlier in the weekend.

In their coverage of Steve Jobs and his return to the stage for Apple last week, the Wall Street Journal placed a Halloween ad for Grandin Road, a maker of furniture, next to an article about Jobs.

That's the question on everyone's mind. Did someone at the Wall Street ...

Apple added an anti-phishing feature to Safari in the 3.1 release. Called Fraud Warning (it's in Settings->Safari->Security), the modification was released with little fanfare (or explanation), and it appears that there may be confusion about how it works.

Computerworld reported on two anti-malware researchers who had taken a look at users who had implemented the feature and found it gave inconsistent ...

Users on Apple support forums are still complaining about loss of GPS functionality after upgrading to the 3.0 firmware release.

As TUAW notes, some users are getting their iPhones replaced, even though Apple is not acknowledging that a bug exists. Some people have had success after rebooting their phone, or disabling 3G. And there have been reports that the problem went away after upgrading ...

A mysterious discovery has been unearthed inside the new iPod Touch.

According to the San Franciso Chronicle, a Broadcom Wi-Fi chip was discovered during the dissection of the new 32GB iPod Touch by the makers of iFixit, a Web site founded six years ago to help people "tinker with their electronics."

The full list of discoveries was chronicled earlier in our forums.

    Exciting, isn't it? ...

    Talk about a "designer" app.

Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation is updating their Ralph Lauren Collection App with the new Rugby App.

According to the announcement on Reuters:

Although I was unwilling to mortgage my house in order to actually purchase some of the apparel profiled in this new venture, I still wanted to give the app a try.

iFixit published their teardowns of the new 3rd generation 32 GB iPod Touch and the iPod nano today, and made some interesting observations: chief among them was the fact that the Touch's wireless chip supports 802.11n, the wireless standard that promises raw theoretical max throughput up to 450 Mbits/sec. That fact, as well as the discovery that there's ...
