Apple blew Wall Street expectations out of the water today as the iDevice maker reported second quarter earnings.

Apple was widely expected to report earnings of $9.99 per share, and $36.7 billion in total revenue for the quarter. This was higher than Apple's own estimate (given January 2012) of $8.50 per share on $32.5 billion in revenue.

Those were the projections. This is the reality: net income was $11.6 billion - ...

Onavo Extend is a well-known data-saving service for iOS. If you have never heard of it, Onavo Extend essentially takes the data you use over your cellular network and compresses it (from their own servers) to make the file sizes smaller. This in turn causes faster loading on your end and also lower data usage for the same data-munching tasks other people perform on a daily basis. It helps you get more bang for your ...

While the iOS home screen is generally simple to navigate in itself, we still continuously look for ways to make it easier to get to certain applications we use on an everyday basis. If you are one of these people, then you may want to refresh your Cydia sources to find a new free jailbreak tweak dubbed SpinTask by iOS developer Ariel Auiz. It even comes loaded with options in its preferences pane from the Settings application.

Chalk one up to Motorola in the company's ongoing and seemingly never-end legal skirmish with Apple.

Today, a judge with the U.S. International Trade Commission ruled against the iDevice maker, saying that Motorola did, in fact, have one of its patents violated by Apple. The patent in question relates to 3G technology.

The judge did not side with Motorola, however, on three other alleged ...

If you're like me, you assumed the recent videos showing up in your Facebook news feed with the tagline “watched on viddy” or “shot with viddy” were just your stupid friends getting suckered into clicking on some Facebook spam.

Well, I was wrong. It turns out Viddy is the latest video-sharing application and yesterday snagged some celebrity backing from Will Smith and Jay-Z.

Viddy didn’t get personal support from Smith or ...

It's the sort of statistic that would all but certainly alarm the Centers for Disease Control if the numbers were about humans. Notwithstanding the fact that the latest epidemic of infection is about machines and not people, some remain alarmed regardless.

According to a new report from Sophos, Windows malware is so common these days that one in every five Macs is infected with it.

When it comes to iPhone color kits, I've personally tried tons - from 20 dollar kits to 120 dollar kits, I have ordered parts from all across the globe. Issue after issue comes up with kits - light leaks, not fitting right, LCDs not working at all.

So far I've found only one company that clears all those problems up: iFixDirect. ...

Apple is rolling right along with the next release in a fast-moving cycle of developer builds. The latest is of OS X 10.7.4 - or "Build 11E52" - which has just been released for testing.

And there's really no immediate fireworks or curious tidbits to report.

Consistent with other recent builds, Apple isn't pointing to any known issues, however, developers are encouraged to dedicate the ...

Its been a while since Mas Design has came out with anything new - last time I did a review for them was when they released the titanium back plates for the iPhone 4. Since then, they've been working hard to bring out a few new and awesome products!

AAPL has dropped well over $70 a share over the last ten days. Is the bleeding about to stop or has the hemorrhaging only just begun?

Many analysts believe this question will be answered tomorrow when Apple reports second quarter earnings. The conference call commences after the close of regular trading on Wall Street, Tuesday, April 24th.

Apple says the call will begin at 5:00 p.m. ...

With a single statement, Senior Apple Executive Eddy Cue, summarized Apples stance in the recent antitrust suit, and the current state of traditional media in the digital world.

The rest of the Article written by L. Gordon Crovitz (his first name wasn’t good enough?) lays out a convincing argument in favor of the agency model. Crovitz argues the agency model allowed traditional bookstores like Barnes and ...

iCloud is well-integrated into Mac OS X and iOS, however it is much less versatile as other cloud services such as Dropbox. Unfortunately, Dropbox doesn’t give you a whole lot of storage without referring many people. Today Microsoft’s cloud service, Skydrive, gets its own Mac client to help it compete with services like Dropbox for Apple users. Until now, Mac users needed to use the Web interface to use SkyDrive. Apart from the client for Mac, Microsoft ...
