We now have unsurprising but welcome confirmation that apps designed for iPhone 4 will run at full resolution on the larger screen of the iPad. The devs behind the "Make Coffee" app put up a demo on their website showing the quality of their new iPhone 4-scaled app on the iPad, calling the results "unbelievable!" AppleInsider, in their coverage of the demo, notes what is - to me ...

Escher Auernheimer, Goatse Security boss, is aiming to clear the air with a slightly ticked-off personal note addressing AT&T's suggestions that that his company is packed to the brim with "malicious" hackers.

Publicly embarrassed by its latest public relations meltdown, AT&T immediately went on the offensive after a security problem was exposed and thousands of iPad user email addresses were compromised. ...

[UPDATE: Confirmed. Still no official word on pricing, though.]

[OK, UPDATE 2: Best Buy Mobile rep told me AT&T is letting all retail outlets (so that includes Wal-mart and RadioShack too) offer upgrade pricing. You have to make pre-orders in person at Best Buy locations, though: no online or phone-in options.]

Despite official silence about availability and pricing, a Best ...

After a Worldwide Developers Conference where Mac OS X was most notable by its absence, the French site HardMac has come forth with a claim that Apple is considering two separate developer confabs: one for iOS and one for Mac OS X. Citing "one of our most reliable sources," HardMac - which previously had accurate leaks about Mac Pro and MacBook CPU upgrades - is short on details but notes ...

9to5mac has reported something buried inside of the code in iOS 4 GM. Currently we have the option to export to YouTube or Mobile Me and it looks like soon we will have direct exporting to facebook when iOS 4 hits us very soon.

So how exactly did they find this little bit of information if there are no buttons for it? Well buried inside on of the .plist files on an iPhone running iOS 4 GM, 9to5Mac ...

Last week we discussed msft.guy's patching files which allowed for unlocking on iOS 4 GM. The process required some manual patching that was required to be done after any rebooting. All in all, it was a rather tedious process, but a step in the direction that gets us to what we have today. Blacksn0w RC2 updated for iOS 4 GM.

The man behind this piece of software is Steve, the developer who first gave us legit PushFix.info ...

In trying to decide whether to go all-out for the 32GB iPhone 4 or save a hundred bucks and just get the 16GB, one of the considerations is photo and video size. My whole music library won't fit on any iPhone (or any iPod for that matter), so that's not going to be the deciding factor. But will I regret it if I have a small iPhone and decide to take some video? We don't yet know exactly how big the iPhone's ...

Apple announced the Retina Display on the new iPhone 4 with much fanfare, calling it "the sharpest, most vibrant, highest-resolution phone screen ever." The bold claims have led to pushback, with a competing manufacturer saying that the Retina Display is a battery hog and can't touch OLED displays. An analyst, meanwhile, contradicted Steve Jobs's claim that the human eye can't detect individual picture ...

During his keynote address at the start of WWDC 2010, Apple CEO Steve Jobs found a more than receptive audience for his introduction of the mobile version of iMovie. The $4.99 app was even given a live demo by Randy Ubillos, the developer behind the '08 redesign of iMovie. During the presentation, we witnessed just how similar the mobile app is to its computer counterpart. That is, iPhone ...
