Eleven months ago, MMi reported that Andy Miller, the executive once in charge of Apple's not-so-successful iAd operation, decided to leave the hallowed halls of Cupertino for new opportunities.

Miller, who joined the company as VP of mobile advertising in 2010 following his work at Quattro Wireless, left the iDevice maker (where he reported directly to Steve Jobs) to become a general partner at Highland ...

There are some pretty expensive solutions out there for getting Notification Cetner widgets and application icons on your lock screen for faster access, however a new jailbreak tweak dubbed AnyLock by iOS developer Gil Ben Moshe will let you put both Notification Center widgets and application icons on the lock screen.

The tweak allows you to put the application icons and the Notification Center widgets absolutely anywhere on the screen you want them to be. There is no grid that the applications have to snap into ...

We all know what we paid for our current or previous generation iPhone. But the dollar amount we coughed up for the Apple smartphone is different from what the device is actually "worth" to us. At least that's the suggestion made by a new study that seeks to expose just how valuable the iPhone is to the average device owner.

According to a new survey conducted by - you guessed it - Piper ...

So I've been meaning to let you guys know about SuperTooth's Disco product for a while now. It's a Bluetooth wireless speaker which rocks the house pretty well. I took it up to Bonnaroo last month as our RV's impromptu speaker system, and we had a blast with it.

    Company

Based in Nébias, France, SuperTooth has been around since the 80s. In 2004, they were the first ones to create the concept of a Bluetooth speakerphone to clip to your car's visor. They've since sold millions of units, and specialize in Bluetooth gear.

    In the Box

The Disco unit itself comes in the box, as well as the AC power adapter. There's also a "holster" - a little bag for the device, as well ...

The Wall Street Journal is throwing its credible journalistic weight behind a previous report that was once chalked up to the rumor mill. Now it appears that reality has trumped the rumor. According to the WSJ report in question, the 6th Generation Apple iPhone will, indeed, deliver a thinner touchscreen.

The WSJ says the next iPhone has already begun production in Asia and utilizes a new technology ...

Typing on a small mobile screen like that of the iPhone can be very cumbersome, so why not decrease the workload and let the software help you with the typing? A new jailbreak tweak called Octopus Keyboard by iOS developer Mario Hros will allow the keyboard to guess at the words you are most likely trying to spell so you don’t have to manually type those words all the way out. With the way the keyboard works, you might feel like you’re typing like an Octopus – hence the name.

As previously reported, Apple released iOS 6 beta 3 to developers yesterday, an update that brought mainly additional stability to the operating system. It was discovered though that a new feature was added as well, one that many customers might not be too happy about. It appears AT&T will begin restricting and possibly charging for the new FaceTime-over-3G –network feature in iOS 6. Prior to iOS 6, FaceTime was ...

Even though Apple has yet to confirm the next-generation iPhone or anything about it, many European mobile carriers are placing orders for Nano SIMs in anticipation of the iPhone 5 launch, which is rumored to drop in September or October this year. These Nano SIM cards aren’t even on the market yet but Apple’s proposal to use the technology won over Nokia’s proposal with the industry standards ...

iOS has a very good passcode system. You simply need to set a passcode and it’s usually enough to keep almost anyone with your iPhone in their hand out of your personal information. Unfortunately, it’s so good that it’s also secure against a person that forgets their own passcode, which ultimately leads to complications down the line.

iOS developer Gil Ben Moshe has created a jailbreak tweak called Plan B, which can be used to regain control of your iOS ...

Developers that upgraded to iOS 6 beta 3 today from the over the air (OTA) update might have been in for a little surprise after attempting to jailbreak the new firmware tethered with the developer release of redsn0w. Developers have been able to jailbreak iOS 6 beta 1 and iOS beta 2 by simply pointing redsn0w to the iOS 6 beta 1 firmware file and it was a tethered jailbreak.

Finding important information on your iOS device is made a hassle by Apple’s simplistic and clean interface. Since they like keeping things tidy, it is often hidden deep within preference pane cells in the Settings application rather than in front of your face in the sleek home screen design. Some information isn't even shown at all – such as your memory usage. A new free jailbreak tweak called InfoPage by iOS developer q0rtex is now in Cydia and allows you to put useful information ...
