Verizon recently announced that the company will be flipping the switch to 4G LTE in 34 new markets while expanding coverage across 38 others on August 16th. The wireless carrier is rolling out 4G LTE and reaching than 75% of the U.S. population, making their grand total of areas covered larger than 370 markets. The news is great for LTE iPad owners who will seemingly continue to enjoy faster and better download speeds in quite a few new areas.

If that wasn’t enough already, there have been several rumors of the next-generation iPhone also being LTE capable, which should leave Verizon customers with additional excitement. Most recently, Korean carriers have ...

Apple may be taking what the Apple TV, which they describe as a “hobby” one step further as new reports claim the company is currently in talks with major cable providers, asking them to let consumers use an Apple-branded set-top box to view live television along with other video content. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that people who seem to be familiar with the talks claim that Apple has yet to ...

Apple’s counsel disagrees with the Department of Justice’s memorandum in support of a proposed settlement, which asked the New York district court handling the case to hand down a decision without any further hearings. The government decided to argue that a quick final judgment would be in the best interest of consumers as well as the involved parties, which would not have to pay for ongoing litigation as a result. The Cupertino ...

Normally when you tap on a link in certain applications – Mail for example – Mobile Safari launches in a whole new process and that means you have to use iOS’ cumbersome multitasking to get back to the application you were just in after viewing the Web page. Luckily, this isn’t the case anymore and you can now view links much more easily.

A new free tweak has surfaced in Cydia called BrowseInApp Lite by iOS developer Alan Yip. It gives you ...

Some of you probably recall our previous giveaway from cellpig, which was the cellhelmet TPU case. The case comes with a one-year guarantee that if your iPhone is harmed while in the case (excluding water damage), the iPhone could be replaced or repaired by the company.

Cellpig is back with another project that needs a jump-start; now manufacturing screen protectors as well as cases. This means you ...

Changing Apple’s default (or as I sometimes like to call it, ‘defail’) animations is one of the things jailbreakers love to do most. Luckily, there are many different options available. Another new tweak is now available in Cydia called UnCurl by iOS developers danyl and Ori Kadosh. The tweak, as the name implies, gives you a curling animation when either unlocking your iOS device from the lock screen, or opening Notification Center.

    If you’ve seen a curling ...

MagSkin works. There’s something unusually satisfying about slapping your iPhone on the fridge, and the side of a filing cabinet.

The idea is simple. Attach a magnet to the back of your iPhone or iPad and stick it to things. Creator Daniel Weyer’s final design is essentially an adhesive magnet with a skin applied to the back for some visual flare. Obviously this an oversimplification of the development and production process which nearly ended without a working prototype until ...

The MacBook Pro with retina display was released at this year’s WWDC event and since then many Mac applications have been greeted with updates for the new display, which has an astoundingly high amount of pixels-per-inch (PPI) – 220 to be exact. With that kind of resolution, the human retina cannot distinguish individual pixels from a normal viewing distance.

Of all these applications being updated, one very important ...

Apple CEO Tim Cook and Samsung CEO Choi Gee Sung should be used to breaking bread by now. In early 2012, the chief executive officers for both warring tech companies met - by judge's orders - to seek a resolution to their ongoing patent battle.

A resolution wasn't reached. But with the presiding judge in the relentless intellectual property showdown between Apple and Samsung refusing to give up hope, ...

As MMi reported yesterday, the estate of late Apple CEO Steve Jobs was recently burglarized. More than $60,000 worth of computers and personal items were taken in the heist, which wasn't targeted at Jobs or his family.

"The best we can tell is it was totally random," police told the media on Tuesday, adding that a 35-year old Alameda man named Kariem McFarlin was arrested as a suspect in ...

As if we require another chunk of evidence that the next generation iPhone will support LTE connectivity, here it is. According to well-placed sources speaking with The Korea Times, support for Long Term Evolution is coming next month with the 6th-gen iPhone's release.

"SK Telecom and KT are in talks to offer long-term evolution (LTE) connectivity on Apple’s next handset," the report reads. If sources ...
