Let's face it. If not for the coffee shops and cozy reading lounges within some of the world's biggest book retailers, many of us would spend a lot less time in those locations reading books. While Apple is no stranger to patent litigation, the prospect of a looming judgment is ample enough to make even Steve Jobs get a lump in his throat. According to multiple published reports, Apple is looking at a whopping $625.5 million judgment against Mirror Worlds regarding "alleged patent infringement" related to Spotlight, Time Machine and Cover Flow.

Looking at these sales, an analyst with JMP Research is predicting a run rate of 4 million units sold per year, and saying the low price of $99 is "resonating with customers."

When the guys over at One Block Off The Grid ran into trouble with Adobe After Effects, they realized that they needed a faster Mac to finish their project on time.
