The good people at iFixit have completed their teardown of Apple's new iPad 2. And the broad consensus in response to the tablet's disembowelment is clear. Indeed, there are few surprises to be found beneath the hood of the new iPad 2. As chronicled by the iFixit team in their teardown and subsequent highlight video (see above), the most attention-worthy ...

On Friday, Nick reported that Apple had begun estimating deliveries for the first batch of online iPad 2 purchases to take place between March 18th-March 25th. Consumers, however, have since started reporting much faster delivery estimates are coming from AT&T, although it isn't clear just how widespread those estimates are. Several customers we've heard from say that they placed ...

From the experiences of the MMi crew to feedback from our vast readership, there was no shortage of tangible consumer interest in the iPad 2 upon its launch yesterday. As illustrated by long lines and prompt depletion of inventory, it appears the iPad 2 is the hot commodity everyone expected it to be. On Friday evening at 7:30, even MuscleNerd tweeted: "Wow here at 1000 Oaks Apple ...

Today, I waited in line, on launch day for an Apple product for the first time. I'm sure many readers have done such a thing before, but this was my first experience, and I thought it might be interesting to share some of the more exciting moments from my day in line for the iPad 2.

I decided to get the iPad at the Apple Store in SoHo, NYC. It's a flagship store, but isn't as insane as some of the other NYC locations (No one sold their spot for 900$) My friend William ...

As the MMi crew and company join the broad Apple customer base today in anticipation of the iPad 2's arrival later today, there's no shortage of interesting projections emerging this afternoon with regard to just how big this debut weekend could be for Apple's second generation tablet.

Watching the stock ticker above my office door, shares of Apple are presently trading $4.49 ...

New images coming out of China claim to be “mold engineering drawings” that point to the next iPhone version having a larger edge-to-edge screen. Images like these are often used to create cases and accessories for new Apple products before they are announced or go on sale. Design mockups can then be created and tested so new products can then be ready to go on sale as soon as Apple releases a new device.

    If these ...

Last month we reported that US Congressman Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) reached out to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) questioning Apple's "marketing practices of applications for Apple devices. Two weeks later, the Federal Trade Commission responded to Congressman Markey's letter, promising to probe Apple's business practices relating to the concerns expressed. "We fully share your concern ...

With the release of the new Sandy Bridge-equipped MacBook Pros, users have been expecting clockspeeds of up to 3.4 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost technology. However, it at least a couple of cases, 13" models with Core i7-2620M processors have been reported to stall out at 2.7 GHz when using Windows. The culprit may be high core temperature, which is not being seen when the 13" is running Mac OS X or at all ...

We're standing (well, sitting) in line in Tampa waiting for the iPad 2. Arrived at 10am, and there were 50 people in line already at the Apple Store. The device doesn't go on sale until 5pm, and the line is full of folk with every possible Apple product (and one weirdo on a Kindle) consuming media and passing the time. Geeky conversations are the norm, and passerbys like to make ...

Flash content may not be officially supported on iOS devices, but that hasn’t stopped some developers from creating apps that offer workarounds to this limitation. Skyfire may finally have some competition with iSwifter, a new free app for iPad that allows you to not only view Flash videos, but also plays Flash based games as well.

When you launch the app you're presented with a screen that lets you choose between browsing ...
