3G or 4G? Make up your mind.

One thing that caused a massive debate with the release of the iPhone 4S was whether or not the HSPA+ network AT&T uses to provide service to Apple’s new smartphone should be considered 4G or not. The data speeds of AT&T’s HSPA+ network are capable of doubling the speeds the iPhone 4 could get on AT&T’s 3G network. It could also double the speeds the iPhone 4S was provided ...

The process of Geotagging our photographs has now become a very common drill for people taking pictures to share with other people. Geotagging lets us see where and when a photograph was taken. iPhoto for the Mac supports Geotagging and allows us to share that personal information with the people we send our photos to. The location of where the photograph was taken will then be shown on a Google Map. ...

This morning, Apple CEO Tim Cook said the new iPad will be available for preorder beginning today.

As you might have expected, any time Apple announces a new product for preorder, the floodgates open and web traffic wreaks havoc on the online Apple store. Such was once again the case today.

With error messages and page crashes immediately reported across the blogosphere, there's clearly ...

[WARNING: Jailbreakers should NOT upgrade to iOS 5.1 until a corresponding jailbreak is released)

In what amounted to the first formal announcement at Apple's media event today, Tim Cook revealed that iOS 5.1 (for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch) is now available for OTA download.

In addition to addressing bugs affecting battery life, the 189MB update delivers a number of significant tweaks and improvements. Most notably, there's voice dictation ...

Apple's new iPad specific browsing UI.

Apple updated it’s line of native apps today including iWorks, Garageband and the iLife suite. But, the most impressive update might be the addition of iPhoto on the iPad.

The iPad iPhoto app adds a ton of basic and not-so basic photo editing tools to the mix. The overhaul includes new gestures, multi-touch editing, and sending photos directly between devices.

    Browsing

The app appears to be incredibly smart. By double-tapping single photo the app will compare that ...

Rumors be gone, the new iPad is here. Albeit, without an official name yet. Seriously, it's called "The new iPad." *facepalm* It appears Apple is dropping the numerical naming system from the iPad line and will adopt an iMac and MacBook like naming system with each subsequent release simply going by "iPad." All of that naming hoopla has been cleared up. Which is still incredibly confusing, because Apple is still selling the iPad 2, which when positioned right next to the new "iPad" looks like the superior ...

It looks like the lack of Apple TV units did in fact signal Cupertino’s intentions to update the small streaming television box that could.

The updated Apple TV can push out 1080p, and is even smaller than before and probably small enough that mid-sized dogs might mistake it for a very functional and expensive chew-toy. The box will support movies streaming in 1080p as well as ...

Apple was recently granted a major patent that deals with the rules and methods of electronic payment transactions along with detailed descriptions of how future devices could implement the parameters to help seamlessly incorporate the credit card system with an iTunes backend. The patent is titled “Parental Controls” and essentially establishes a set of guidelines which provides the option to look over how users complete mobile ...

The movement to curb AT&T’s throttling is gaining steam.

A man won an $850 ruling against AT&T in small claims court last week, and the man who helped represent him even posted a nice guide on how to levy your own small claims suit against AT&T. Now, Jane Foody, a physical therapist and AT&T unlimited data customer has started a petition on Change.org.

As of this story 57,413 people have signed the petition ...

According to the Dow Jones Newswires (Nasdaq) Apple could be extending a very expensive olive branch to Samsung and Motorola in an effort to end the their ongoing patent war.

Thus far the patent war between the three companies has nothing to show except a few minor victories, massive legal expenses, and continued efforts by everyone involved to win something. But, the efforts to pull out a massive ...
