The iPhone and the iPad both have a switch on the side of the device by the volume buttons that is capable of being used as a mute switch. The iPod touch, on the other hand, has nothing but volume buttons, which requires you to manually set the volume down to silent and then manually bump it back up to an audible volume. The Wall Street Journal recently profiled Apple’s “go-slow” approach to mobile payments, pointing out that the company may be waiting on purpose to release their iteration. Apple announced the inclusion of a feature called Passbook to iOS 6, which allows users to keep loyalty cards, tickets, and coupon in one central app. Passbook doesn’t offer a full payment system which has been a rumored area of research ...

For months we've been hearing that Apple's third generation iPad is coming "any day now" in China. Having long been approved by regulators and cleared for takeoff by Chinese authorities, it hasn't been clear what - if anything - is still delaying the new iPad's launch inside of the world's largest mobile community.

But regardless of the wait's culprit (and it may have been Apple's trademark ...

Thunderbolt connectivity has been met with many criticisms since its release, mainly due to the cost as it adds a considerable premium to the prices of compatible peripherals. Even the Thunderbolt cables are expensive with Apple’s 2-meter cable being priced at a whopping $49. In a recent report, the folks over at Ars Technica took a look at why the cables are currently so expensive and how ...

According to a recent study iOS app development seems to have a larger learning curve than other mobile platforms. Not only is it more difficult to learn and master it also costs developers more in terms of time, effort, and expenses to develop and iOS app compared to developing an Android, BlackBerry, or Windows Phone app. That being said, the iOS platform has boosted the popularity of Objective-C, the programming ...

Taking a look at all the good themes that came out in Cydia this week, we feel that FrameD by Miket25 has the most to offer in terms of detail and design characteristics. Take a look at some of the screenshots below:

FrameD is hosted in the ModMyi repository for a cost of $1.99. After purchasing it, you will be able to enable it from WnterBoard and see iOS in a whole new way. The theme focuses on icons and important interface elements by closing them in ...

All good computers have a tab key on the keyboard, but the iPhone doesn’t. A new free jailbreak tweak comes to the rescue, dubbed NotesTab by iOS developer Fire30, to bring you a tab key to the Notes application – the most likely place you will ever need to use the tab key in iOS.

As shown above, the tab key is placed on the keyboard, in a separate extension. It would have looked better if it were integrated into the iOS keyboard ...

A new, extremely difficult and warranty voiding mod eliminates the need for a charging case to wireless charge your iPhone. Apple, please build this into the next iPhone.

*Before reading any further, this mod voids your iPhone warranty, and is not for the faint of heart, or inexperience iDevice tinkerer. Nor is it cheap.*

If you love first person shooters like Call of Duty and you love iOS devices like the iPhone and iPad, then you’ll love to hear that Activision is currently working on a full-blown game for iOS. As of now the Call of Duty title sits in the App Store with the zombie versions of the game, but not as a whole campaign:
