Did you play with LEGOS when you were a kid? Why don't you play with them as an adult? With the demise of webapps as the main Apple supported developing area being finalized on monday webapps are obsolete (unless of course you partake in modding -- they have been old news for a long time).

Well maybe web apps aren't quite so useless. BattleBricks created this awesome contraption ...

I wont lie. I'm a bit bored tonight. I also have a headache. This was going to be a 3g iPhone image roundup thread but I got sidetracked. Bear with me for a bit and you can buy your very own 3g iPhone, or at least make yours appear to be a 3g iPhone.

The other day Natbyte hunted me down and sent me a nice sparkly photo of the 3g iPhone. Or what appears to be the rear case for the 3g iPhone. An empty shell.

    Of course we ...

Two "Sources." One day. Minutes apart.

Basically the 3g iPhone will have GPS included. The 3g iPhone also will not have GPS included.

TUAW today has learned today that the 3g iPhone will have GPS and a black shiny case. Of course we have been expecting GPS this entire time and nearly every publication on the web agrees that yes, the 3g iPhone will have GPS.

TUAW has also confirmed that all of the original details of the 2nd generation iPhone ...

ZodTTD, creator of GBA, SNES, PSX, and OpenTTD emulators, has successfully ported VLC to the iPhone. VLC is a cross-platform media player which supports many formats - far more than the iPhone's built in media player does.

He's still working on some of the formats, but the beta is up and available to his donating beta testers. Expect a public release sometime in the next week. ...

This news is a bit (infinitely) cooler than the recent prank.

Anyone here remember Palm OS? We'll if you don't I'll just tell you, Palm OS was dominate in the early days of the PDA. After years of dominance it was finally overcome by today's popular handheld systems like Microsoft Windows Mobile, RIM on the Blackberry, Symbian on many manufactures like Nokia, and of course OS X on the iPhone.

Edit: This pic has turned out to be a prank check out this post for where the image came from.

An anonymous tipster has sent us an image of the 3g iPhone. When I say anonymous I mean it; the email is completely untraceable sent through the dizum service.

According to our source this is a shot of the rear of the new iPhone taken at a major Apple store (I'm leaving the store location out to respect the ...

Apple Wednesday afternoon released the sixth beta version of the iPhone SDK.

According to the notes, beta 6 requires OS X 10.5.3, and will not function correctly on previous versions of OS X. The SDK is a whopping 1.19 GB download (which I'm currently pulling down at 200 kb/s ).

Apple has filed a patent for a method of placing photovoltaic cells underneath an LCD touch screen, which would give them a great opportunity to maximize that 3.5 inch screen on the iPhone.

According to the filing, the solar power info could be displayed either on the solar cells themselves, or on the device itself near the rest of the stats such as battery power, message alerts, ...
