Although Apple has never formally expressed an interest in launching such a venture, many Apple fanatics have, in recent months, broached the subject of an Apple-based cable television network.

Similar to that of G4 - also known as G4 TV, the cable and satellite television channel devoted to the world of video games - the idea for an Apple television network (which, for now, remains fantasy) is at least becoming a more widespread fantasy, ...

In this morning's Wall Street Journal, the venerable financial newspaper touched on the study published this weekend by DFC Intelligence that predicts that games for the iPhone and iPod touch will be the" principal drivers for growth in the overall portable and mobile gaming market" within a period of only five years.

Although Apple and its designated spokespeople have always offered the left-hand compliment that portable gaming devices ...

GeoHot's decision to take on the iPhone 3.1.2 unlock was criticized for coming after Jody Sanders' offer of $10,000 - especially given that he had previously said he would not work on it. Today, in a scathing post on his blog, GeoHot said that though the unlock will be released on November 4 he was turning down the money, because Sanders "and the rest of the iPhone unlock sites out there are scum."

Earlier this weekend, some idiotic bloggers had the audacity to report that Apple's advertising guru Lee Clow was stepping down after an impressive career with Apple, which included crafting the company's iconic "1984" ad introducing the Mac.

Apparently, some folks had their information wrong when it came to reporting this news. (Don't see below, unless you want to confirm that I am one such idiot).

    But it turns ...

I don't want to be one who tries to tell Apple what to do.

And fortunately, I don't have to. A new study published by shopping site Retrevo does it for me. And I think it's safe to say most Apple fans would agree with the consensus presented.

The study, of which a summary was published this morning by eWeek, presents that $600 is the "pricing sweet spot" of the upcoming Apple tablet to help ward off consumer considerations of the ...

If you were, like me, using your Mac late on Hallowe'en night, you may have noticed your fan kick in at about the time the clock did its "fall back" from Daylight Savings Time. Many users did, and lit up Apple's Support boards for the hour until it was finally 1:59:59 again in their particular time zone, when most everybody's fans quieted down. Users noticed that the SystemUIServer ...

I've been good with using my phone in the car for years. A few days ago I had a fender-bender, though, while trying to deal with a hot issue on email. It's a pretty embarrassing FAIL, but it's sadly not at all uncommon these days. I decided it was time to look into something using voice, and Voice on the Go might just be it.

Voice on the Go is a service that'll convert your emails and texts to voice ...

The First & 20 website showcases iPhone home screens of "some of the best and brightest developers, designers and tech writers." The idea behind the site is to give users the opportunity to be exposed to the apps that the smart guys are using, with the idea that there may be some hidden gems out there that people were unaware of. However, the selections show a lot of repetition, and few unusual choices.

    Talk about modifying your iPhone!

It certainly wasn't inexpensive, but the attention these two creative dudes are attracting from their unique Halloween costumes has been priceless.

Friends John Savio and Reko Rivera coughed up nearly $2,000 to create two wearable iPhone costumes that they are wearing at this very hour to celebrate Halloween.

    According to iPhoneFaq.com:

In case you're wondering, yes, the the costumes are fully functional. They display searches, texts and any other feature native to a real iPhone.

Each costume weighs nearly eighty-five pounds and is powered with enough juice to run for about 4.5 hours - you know, sort of like a real iPhone. The costume runs off of a car battery - and you don't even want to know where that things is strapped.

    The "guyphones" ...

The creative mastermind of Apple's legendary '1984' Superbowl commercial is leaving the company he helped put on the world's stage a quarter-century ago.

Still considered a "masterpiece in advertising," Clow's "1984" ad was filmed with a whopping budget of $900,000 (huge for the time period) and was directed by legendary sci-fi filmmaker Ridley Scott.

The world learned this week that Lee Clow is stepping down as chief creative officer at TBWA/Media Arts Lab for which Apple was a chief client. Beginning with the "cultural cornerstone" that was Apple's classic "1984" ad that introduced the Macintosh computer and ushered in the new era of "Get a Mac" ads starring John Hodgman and Justin Long, Lee Clow's work won't soon be forgotten by anyone, including his good friend Steve Jobs.

    According to Apple Insider ...
