The online Apple Store for Resellers has increased wait times for two Mac mini models, and many resellers' stock of the low-end mini is completely depleted. Meanwhile, Apple has informed its direct sales channel that the low end model has been discontinued. This is consistent with increasing rumors of upgrades to the product line in coming weeks.

Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit. But with Apple and AT&T scooping up so many other businesses to ostensibly further their collective goals, it seems both companies are huddling like never before in order to continue making big plays together in the mobile realm.

In addition to learning this week that Apple will likely face off with Google Maps after acquiring PlaceBase, a geolocation-savvy company that ...

You never know what Apple is really up to these days. But as our friends at CNET indicated over night, at least we're gaining more insight into why Apple hasn't openly embraced Google Latitude.

It turns out, Apple is in the map business now too.

The Apple purchase was Tweeted in July and it's only making headlines today? How did this one get past us?

In and of itself, the purchase ...

Up until a week ago, I didn't really use a case. I've tried quite a few cases, and for various reasons always wound up back at the case Apple sends with the iPhone - no case at all. Cases were always too slippery, sliding right out of my pocket, or too rubbery - bringing lint out half the time.

Case-Mate has pulled me back to a cased iPhone though with the Barely There I.D. Case series. Not only does it protect the iPhone, it's major selling point for me is an added feature - the built in ultra slim slot for ...

A story on Gizmodo asserts that Apple has been in touch with publishers about getting newspapers, magazines, and other print media up on iTunes for use with "a new device," presumably the long-rumored Apple tablet. The thinking, supposedly, is that the product will be marketed as a "basic repurposing of the stuff found on dead trees today." If true, this report could represent a key ...

CNN.com released its CNN Mobile iPhone app on Tuesday, with a number of slick features its competitors don't have... including a $1.99 price tag.

Other news outlets like The New York Times, France24, the Associated Press, and NPR have had free apps out for some time. CNN is taking something of a risk in making its offering a non-free download, but obviously hopes its feature set makes ...

It's turning out to be a big week for streaming video content on the iPhone.

First, we learned of Akamai's new video streaming platform, and now comes word that Elgato is behind a new EyeTV app that allows users to watch their favorite TV shows live on the iPhone or iPod Touch over a wi-fi network.

Basically serving as a mobile extension of the desktop software, EyeTv lets you: Watch live TV and change channels ...

In an announcement that is every bit as exciting to content developers as it is to mobile customers, content delivery network Akamai is behind a new streaming platform (based on its global network of HTTP servers) capable of delivering HD online video to the iPhone. Its also compatible with Adobe's Flash technology as well as Microsoft's Silverlight.

For the iPhone, however, the prospect ...

Apple's Software Update utility has been installing an enterprise iPhone profile management tool on Windows PCs that had accepted the default update suggestions, even if the users had never used an iPhone. Although Apple pulled the utility from the default list later Monday, some observers raised objections about Apple's seeming propensity to push unnecessary software on Windows users. ...

Right on the heels of the announcement that French carrier Orange would be selling the iPhone in the United Kingdom comes an announcement that Vodafone will also be selling the device in the UK and Ireland. After two years of an exclusive arrangement between Apple and Telefonica's O2, the dual announcements represent a sea change in the British iPhone business.
