A lot of talk on the tech blogosphere this weekend centered on the domain names we learned Apple reclaimed by force last week when legal eagles in Cupertino set their sights on Daniel Bijan of Los Angeles who had previously purchased more than a dozen domains that Apple, for obvious reasons, is interested in. The list of reclaimed domains includes the following:

    • blueipod.com
    • iphonecheap.com
    • iphonetoys.com
    • ipodaccessories.info
    • ipodkits.com
    • ipodsbaratos.com ...

Does this have something to do with the tablet? How about the 4th generation iPhone?

These are the questions many Apple fans are asking themselves following a vague report about some “secret” store reportedly in development in Silicon Valley. Although some initial reports have been utterly confusing and suggestive of a facility that will only unveil and offer the newest, cutting edge products from Apple, that’s not necessarily the case. ...

An industry group is developing a standard for wireless charging of devices like digital cameras and cell phones, and expects to complete its technical specification within six months. The New York Times reported in an article Saturday on a claim that Apple has been working "for the past couple of years" on a multitouch version of iWork for the rumored upcoming Apple tablet. The newspaper says the tablet will be controlled by a complex vocabulary of gestures that was developed by FingerWorks, a company Apple acquired in 2007.

The assertions came in the middle of an article in the Times ...

Since a new rumor about the forthcoming Apple tablet hasn't circulated in at least ten minutes, now is the perfect time to focus on a different Apple product for once - and one that already exists. The iPhone is on the receiving end of a number of curious speculations this weekend, the grand-daddy of which is talk that our trusty handset could soon get a little flashier. And I mean that literally.

    From Ars Technica ...

A recent Apple patent application shows the company's work on a new generation of touchscreens that may one day lead to slimmer, brighter screens on computers and phones. The new technology, as revealed on the Patently Apple website, would eliminate the additional layer of capacitive material above the LCD screen, making each pixel itself actually touch-sensitive, and allowing the display itself to be ...

The popular Fandango movie app for the iPhone has offered online ticket purchasing since its release back in March, and the companion website has allowed you to print tickets at home for years. Now, however, the service is planning to roll out scannable barcodes for the iPhone app that will eliminate paper movie tickets entirely.

“We’re testing it now,” said Darren Cross of Fandango told Leander Kahney ...

Perhaps that headline was poorly phrased

Nonetheless, samples of iPod stools (that's better, right?) are creating a buzz. Aptly described as an "innovative music experience," The iTamtam dock represents a cross between a bar stool and an iPod dock. Promoted as everything from a decorative addition to the music lover's home, to a posterior tingling music experience of epic proportions, there could be all sorts of interested ...

After taking heat for years from Greenpeace about its environmental practice, Apple has won the activist group's praise for having cleaned up its act. Greenpeace lauded Apple's improved record at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas on Thursday, also singling out cellphone makers Nokia and Sony Ericsson for their green manufacturing processes.

Apple had come in dead last in the environmental group's ...

According to an "exclusive" from the financial website TheStreet.com, the supposed new Verizon iPhone will be powered by a chip from Qualcomm. Contradicting earlier rumors, though, the phone would not be dual mode - allowing it to be used both on CSMA systems like Verizon's and GSM networks like AT&T's in the US - but rather based on a standard EV-DO chip from Qualcomm.
