A mysterious discovery has been unearthed inside the new iPod Touch.

According to the San Franciso Chronicle, a Broadcom Wi-Fi chip was discovered during the dissection of the new 32GB iPod Touch by the makers of iFixit, a Web site founded six years ago to help people "tinker with their electronics."

The full list of discoveries was chronicled earlier in our forums.

    Talk about a "designer" app.

Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation is updating their Ralph Lauren Collection App with the new Rugby App.

According to the announcement on Reuters:

Although I was unwilling to mortgage my house in order to actually purchase some of the apparel profiled in this new venture, I still wanted to give the app a try.

    The Rugby name, ...

iFixit published their teardowns of the new 3rd generation 32 GB iPod Touch and the iPod nano today, and made some interesting observations: chief among them was the fact that the Touch's wireless chip supports 802.11n, the wireless standard that promises raw theoretical max throughput up to 450 Mbits/sec. That fact, as well as the discovery that there's ...

It's been a while since AOL was a major player in the digital realm. But the folks at AOL are impressing some with their newest offering.

Jason Kincaid at TechCrunch is out with the scoop:

In a nutshell, Lifestream is coming to the iPhone with AIM 4.0. This "FriendFeed with integrated chat," as Kincaid puts it, just went live in the App Store.

    However, you have ...

Seems like the new OS, Snow Leopard was released just yesterday and now there's even an update for it! Makes me think that Apple is really dedicated towards the stability of this OS as that's the only new 'feature' present since Leopard... Weighing at just 75.1 MB, this is the first major security update for the OS.

    The update ...

As of this morning iPhone 3GS owners can no longer restore to firmwares 3.0 or 3.0.1. This is due to the fact that Apple has stopped signing these files and if you try and restore using one you'll get an error. So this means you should be very very careful until 3.1 is jailbroken because if you mess up your phone... you can only go up to 3.1 ...

iPhone 3GS users, among other AT&T subscribers with HSPA-capable phones, should see a speed bump by the end of the year... but only if you're in one of 6 cities scheduled for the rollout: Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles and Miami are slated for the upgrade this year.

Many Apple fans like myself love the cool games available for the iPhone and iPod.

To a considerable degree, the gaming experience for the Apple product line can hold its own with the lineup available for any competing portable video game handheld maker - even the PSP, in my estimation. In addition to cost effectiveness and appearance, the outright game play for many titles just feels better on my iPhone. And it's impossible ...

When Snow Leopard was introduced only days ago, the initial public reaction was somewhat subdued. Despite the excitement and hype, attention quickly turned to Apple's real focus behind the release - to update an operating system with fewer bells and whistles but greater speed, improved functionality, and more versatility for future development.

That "under the hood" emphasis ...

We wrote about Rock Your Phone back in March when they launched, as an alternative/jailbroken AppStore. Yesterday they launched 2.0, and it comes packed with a host of new features and improvements. They're positioning themselves as a complete jailbroken package management solution, from paid to free packages. They actually list all packages from all default Cydia sources now (with depiction pages intact, which is something Icy never did which ticked off Cydia repo maintainers like us and BigBoss).

    Opening ...
