Following up on yesterday seeing Apple change delivery dates on the pre-orders to July 2 (from June 24 - hope you were able to get through!), AT&T is now showing only that the devices are on backorder, and will deliver in "2-3 weeks."

UPDATE 9:50: I should specify, this is for orders GOING FORWARD. The pre-orders for the 24th delivery will still be on the schedule they outlined yesterday (which is the 24th mostly, ...

While I realize there is not a lot of people that are actually on the older baseband, 04.26.08, there has been an update pushed by the Dev-Team, thus releasing an ultrasn0w update that allows users with the older baseband to unlock their iOS 4 GM device.

This is an official unlock fromt he Dev-Team for baseband 04.26.08, however there will not be a release for other basebands until iOS 4 is ...

On Monday, MMi chronicled how Escher Auernheimer, the Goatse Security boss, took aim at AT&T with an angry public letter addressing the carrier's suggestion that his company is teeming with "malicious" hackers. As it turns out, only hours later, Auernheimer would have an even bigger problem on his hands than the accusations from AT&T.

You see, on his hands were handcuffs. Auernheimer - ...

Fewer than twenty-four hours have passed since preordering began for the 4th generation iPhone. Already, the supply has been virtually decimated - a reality that, according to at least one published report, became evident as early as 1:30pm PST Tuesday.

And just imagine how many prospective buyers would have actually pulled the trigger on the new iPhone today if servers hadn't exploded and otherwise melted down at the moment ...

It's been only 3 months since our last update for OS X Snow Leopard. Since this release, Apple has worked on a number of fixes, more than you can even keep count of. Although I never really had any problems with the last release, it appears there were plenty of problems that needed correcting.

For all the things going on right now, new iPhone 4, ...

Apple may be planning a version of its heavily-hyped Retina display for the iPad, according to some speculative analysis at 9to5Mac. Based on a close reading of Apple's human interface guidelines, the potential for a higher-resolution iPad display is at least being considered. Whether this is a long-term projection or something we'll see sometime soon, of course, is anybody's guess.

It's been a big day of clarification for Apple. From clearing up rumors about an Apple Store app release with an actual Apple Store application, to setting the record straight on SIM-free iPhones being unlocked, Apple fans are getting plenty of answers today - unless, of course, you want to know exactly when your white iPhone 4 will be ready

Today, Apple is confirming that the SIM-free ...

While some thought yesterday's rumor would remain just that, Apple surprised many today by actually releasing its new and much-anticipated retail store app. As covered yesterday on MMi, the new iOS app (creatively dubbed "Apple Store")will serve as a veritable hybrid between a mobile App retail store and a so-called concierge-like service.

Available for the iPhone, iPad and ...

Update: AT&T Premier customers can log in and order.

iPhone 4 has been available via AT&T online and Apple's online retail store for hours now, but good luck actually getting an order in. Although we've tried for a solid 3 hours to get an order in, we're getting the same results hundreds of users are emailing, tweeting, and pm'ing us - zilch.

Apple's site looks to be staying up, with a couple 10-15 second ...

Amid the hubbub of the iPhone 4 preorder and the news - first tipped by Kyle - that you can get one in any color so long as it's black, Apple slipped another change onto its online store. Computid, a MMi reader (and Craywiki maintainer) in the UK noticed early this morning what Apple failed to publicize: the Mac mini has gotten a speed bump, a sleek new aluminum unibody enclosure and an HDMI ...
