The intrepid team at iFixit didn't wait long to do their thing with the new Mac Mini, an Apple release that has left many scratching their heads in disbelief at the purported powerful punch packed into this smaller than expected package. iFixit, however, has answered many questions about the new Mac Mini's "splendor" by exposing the outstandingly well organized and optimized innards of the "other release" by Apple this week. ...

While we had been under the impression that iTunes 9.2 would be released alongside iOS 4, it appears that Apple has already pushed the update for iTunes to the public, ahead of the scheduled release with iOS 4 on June 21st, 2010.

With this update comes some warning notes for the Jailbreak community, as iTunes 9.2 is not fully compatible with the recent Spirit Jailbreak tool. It is currently ...

iPhonepocalypse just went to the next level.

We just got a message from a reader who received an email from AT&T canceling his iPhone 4 pre-order. The customer had placed his order yesterday and received a confirmation number in email. However, today he got an auto-generated email from AT&T claiming that they were "unable to verify" his information "or you have exceeded the number of lines of service that we allow ...

AT&T has "temporarily suspended" iPhone 4 pre-orders, following reports of security breaches and long delays trying to process upgrade eligibility requests. When you click the "Pre-order" link on AT&T's website, you now get a pop-up displaying the message: "Pre-orders for iPhone temporarily suspended." Apple said more than 600,000 iPhone 4 preorders were placed yesterday, and blamed "system ...

Following reports that people trying to preorder iPhone 4s found that they were logged in to someone else's account, AT&T has issued a statement saying that they are "looking into the matter" but haven't been able to find the problem so far. An internal source supposedly told Gizmodo, however, that the security hole happened right after a "fraud update" brought down all the servers at a company that does ...

Following up on yesterday seeing Apple change delivery dates on the pre-orders to July 2 (from June 24 - hope you were able to get through!), AT&T is now showing only that the devices are on backorder, and will deliver in "2-3 weeks."

UPDATE 9:50: I should specify, this is for orders GOING FORWARD. The pre-orders for the 24th delivery will still be on the schedule they outlined yesterday (which is the 24th mostly, ...

While I realize there is not a lot of people that are actually on the older baseband, 04.26.08, there has been an update pushed by the Dev-Team, thus releasing an ultrasn0w update that allows users with the older baseband to unlock their iOS 4 GM device.

This is an official unlock fromt he Dev-Team for baseband 04.26.08, however there will not be a release for other basebands until iOS 4 is ...

On Monday, MMi chronicled how Escher Auernheimer, the Goatse Security boss, took aim at AT&T with an angry public letter addressing the carrier's suggestion that his company is teeming with "malicious" hackers. As it turns out, only hours later, Auernheimer would have an even bigger problem on his hands than the accusations from AT&T.

You see, on his hands were handcuffs. Auernheimer - ...

Fewer than twenty-four hours have passed since preordering began for the 4th generation iPhone. Already, the supply has been virtually decimated - a reality that, according to at least one published report, became evident as early as 1:30pm PST Tuesday.

And just imagine how many prospective buyers would have actually pulled the trigger on the new iPhone today if servers hadn't exploded and otherwise melted down at the moment ...

It's been only 3 months since our last update for OS X Snow Leopard. Since this release, Apple has worked on a number of fixes, more than you can even keep count of. Although I never really had any problems with the last release, it appears there were plenty of problems that needed correcting.

For all the things going on right now, new iPhone 4, ...

Apple may be planning a version of its heavily-hyped Retina display for the iPad, according to some speculative analysis at 9to5Mac. Based on a close reading of Apple's human interface guidelines, the potential for a higher-resolution iPad display is at least being considered. Whether this is a long-term projection or something we'll see sometime soon, of course, is anybody's guess.
