Chalk this one up as either an incredibly innovative and cool or unbelievably stupid and immature thing to do with your iPad. Indeed, if there was ever a good application for the obligatory "don't try this at home" warning, it would probably be here. It seems the guys over at Fuel TV have created the world's first iPad skateboard. And based on the video and photographic evidence, it seems those who've ...

One of the main sticking points - other than its exorbitant price - blocking wider acceptance of the officially-sanctioned iPhone in China has apparently been removed: the national regulatory agency has approved a new phone compatible with China's own WAPI wireless standard. The government of China had blocked the sale of WiFi-enabled iPhones by China Unicom, though grey-market iPhones ...

Dropbox 1.2 has arrived, and with it comes iPad compatibility for the hugely successful and widely utilized file-sharing and online storage app for the iPhone. Best of all, the version rolled out Monday is universal, so iPhone users already in possession of Dropbox can tap into the new-found iPad compatibility just by updating their app.

True HTC HD2 with Real Animated Weather

This week's theme of the week, as nominated by the ModMyi user community, is True HTC HD2 with Real Animated Weather by Alien 1974. . This theme is very well done, and there is plenty of attention to detail. The only kicker with this one is that it will take some effort and time in setting it up to look just right.

If you just got your hands on a new iPad 3G and have already obtained the ABC Player for iPad app, you may be pleasantly surprised to learn that the app has been updated to support video streaming over 3G. AT&T has officially released its pricing for the iPad's international data plans. Some have called the plans pricey. Others have opted for words like "outrageous," and... well, I'll keep it clean and stop there.

Every bit as expensive as the iPhone's international data plans, some iPad owners may similarly experience digital sticker shock in response to the four introduced "Data Global ...

Rich Hong made a pretty sweet Dashboard implementation for the iPad.

Except Apple rejected him from the AppStore. You know, for "contradicting the iPadís user experience." Well, that's a new excuse, right? So what to do now?

Ah, right - the iPad is jailbroken. Rich sent us Dashboard this afternoon, and it's live on the ModMyi.com Cydia repo now - iPad only.

According to an email sent by an increasingly talkative Steve Jobs on Friday, Apple is assembling a "patent pool" - sort of an intellectual property supergroup - to go after open source video codecs that they feel infringe on private patents. As part of Jobs's crusade to get developers to drop Flash in favor of the H.264 video standard, he's brought on a key ally in Microsoft, which sent out ...

Now that the Spirit JB is live, it looks like there's no shortage of iPads out there to jailbreak. Of course, we all knew there was big anticipation ahead of this weekend's iPad 3G launch, but now there are numbers (estimates, at least) to shed some light on how well Apple managed to successfully monetize the second major iPad release in a month.

Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster says ...
