Anand Shimpi and Brian Klug over at Anandtech have done some rigorous testing of an iPhone 4 alongside an iPhone 3GS and a Nexus One. His findings, not surprisingly: the Death Grip is real, it's serious, and you need bumpers. The test results unambiguously replicate what has been effectively crowdsourced over the past week, and should increase the pressure on Apple to stand up and deal with ...

Bright and early this morning, Planetbeing, of the iPhone Dev Team, enticed our imaginations and sparked our hopes with an exciting post on Twitter: a tweet that indicates that it is, indeed, possible to develop exploits that - get ready for this - can work far beyond the present days of the iOS 4 and well into the future of iPhone operating systems.

One hour before the tweet that jailrbreakers ...

So by now everyone knows not to hold their shiny new iPhone 4 if they want to get reception (supposidly). Now I have not had issues with mine yet, but many MANY have.

The response from Apple thus far has been mostly "There is no issue" or "You're holding it wrong".

Well a recent job listing from Apple obviously ...

AppleCare reps are being given careful instructions about what to say and how to handle customer complaints about iPhone 4 reception, according to a purportedly leaked document being featured on Boy Genius Report. Among other things, the doc tells reps to "not perform warranty service" and "DON'T promise a free bumper to customers."

The rumor mill may have been early, but it's about to be proven correct - says Bloomberg.

It appears that Verizon, the largest U.S. mobile-phone company, will at long last finally introduce coverage for Apple's iPhone next year - possibly as early as January. Bloomberg is reporting from two familiar sources in the know (not something a major, credible news source like Bloomberg does very often) ...

Over the weekend, MMi exclusively reported a leak from AT&T Ninja about the iPhone 4 shipment to retail stores - an arrival that was to come in two waves - an early one Monday night and a stealth 2nd shipment Tuesday between 10:30 and noon. It turns out that all suspicions of a quick sell out have materialized, as we're now hearing from readers via Twitter (with pics to prove it) that lines outside some AT&T stores are much bigger than their inventories of new iPhones.

According to one report, an individual was number 52 in line. The store, ...
