On Saturday, the iPad didn't hit the ground running. It apparently hit the ground traveling at warp speed. If estimates from the good people at Piper Jaffray are to be believed, Apple sold somewhere between 600,000 and 700,000 iPads yesterday. This figure, of course, takes into consider both devices purchased yesterday and those pre-ordered during the previous three weeks.

    With the overwhelming ...

We're barely 24 hours into the arrival of the iPad and its already apparent that the tablet has the potential to take mobile video gaming to the proverbial next level. And while Apple has traditionally frowned upon the iPhone's runaway popularity as the ultimate hand-held video game system, it seems Cupertino is more than willing to embrace the native and altogether undeniable gaming potential of the ...

A quick look at the status of an iPad jailbreak.

While there's no official word from anyone, MuscleNerd tweeted "spirit," a jailbreak solution being worked on by comex, should work on an iPad without any modification:

Neither geohot nor the DevTeam have said anything yet... but geohot's got his iPad.

So far saurik's only comment has been "Cydia on the iPad will happen if ...

Our full review should be up within 24 hours, but we didn't want to leave you guys hanging with no images from our end. We've got a few of them lying around, and a few more on the way when the 3G ones ship.

In Apple's famous packaging style, once opened you see the iPad, and only the iPad. Underneath is simple white cardboard with a pull tab to get to the USB cable and power adapter.

The iPad's screen is larger than I thought it would be once I'm seeing ...

Suppose you get a new iPad and it's stolen by a bunch of hooligans who want to destroy it - but can't think of a more creative way to trash it than dropping it and hitting it with a baseball bat - and videoing it to put on YouTube - but can't ...

“This machine is absolutely gorgeous inside,” says Kyle Wiens of iFixit. “There’s clear symmetry that is there for aesthetics alone.”

This morning, the team at iFixit took their first live glimpse inside the iPad only moments after the outfit finally got their hands on the long awaited tablet computer. Now, iFixit is dishing on the inner details of the iPad. And while their findings have been less ...

The iPad went on sale today at locations throughout the United States, with eager customers waiting in long lines. Employees were told to show up at 7am, and reportedly had to hand in their phones and sign a non-disclosure agreement before going into a special training session. Supplies were reportedly very tight, with many people ...

For some, the wait from January 27th until today has felt like an eternity. But April 3rd has finally arrived. And so has the iPad. But with its arrival comes the usual consumer feeding frenzy that Apple products have been known to inspire. Look no further than the Apple Store in Palo Alto, California for evidence. Despite inclement weather Friday night, people began camping out in front ...

The first iPad teardown photos are finally available (and no, we're not talking about the April Fool's Day prank from iFixit), courtesy of the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Though specific information about the componentry is unavailable - thanks to a little government Photoshop work with the numbers stenciled on the chip surfaces - we do have our first ...

It may be the eve of the iPad's release and the dawn of a new computing era, but that doesn't mean that some aspects of old school technology are going to remain permanently brushed beneath the telecommunications rug. Case in point: the new retro iPhone dock from Korea's Kee Utility Inc. As the above picture illustrates, the dock invokes images of a time when the typical phone wasn't... ...

When Apple bought streaming music startup Lala last year, there was immediate speculation that Apple was looking to combine its online store+music library software into an iTunes streaming service, which would store users' own songs in the cloud and allow them to be streamed over the Internet to their devices. No confirmation of that conjecture has ever been received, but there was an intriguing ...

I for one have been looking forward to an update to WinterBoard since I first got my iPhone. Being a theme designer as well, this makes me super excited, and it should for all you theme lovers as well!

For those of you who might not know, WinterBoard is an App developed by @Saurik that allows Jailbroken users to completely change the look and feel of their iDevice. Through Icons, Sounds and User Interface redesigns. ...
