Talk about bringing in the big guns. Apple is pulling out all the stops to hype and promote the 4th generation iPhone. Even the commercials for the new handset will receive an upgrade - an Oscar-winning upgrade, in fact. Apple's new TV ads for the 4th generation iPhone will be directed by Sam Mendes, the Academy Award winning director of "American Beauty."

Forget unruly players and quarrelsome coaches. Apple's iPad is the only thing getting tossed out of the ball park these days. At least at Yankee Stadium, that is.

Reports began surfacing in the last few days that Yankees fans are being asked to leave their iPads at home before taking in a game at the old ball park. Now that more than one fan has been turned away or asked to stow away their tablet, ...

As rumors swirl about AT&T's long anticipated loss of its iPhone exclusivity deal, one Wall Street analyst has warned that the carrier could lose 40% of its iPhone customers to a second carrier. And though pretty much everyone assumes that second carrier will be Verizon, a new (totally unsubstantiated, of course) rumor has turned up suggesting that Sprint, the nation's #3 wireless carrier ...

Is Apple getting ready to kill off the 8GB iPhone 3G? According to Boy Genius Report - whose Apple sources are generally pretty good - the company has stopped shipping the low-end model to AT&T ahead of an expected June launch of the fourth-generation iPhone. If true, the move would be in line with product cancellations ahead of previous new model releases.
