The sixth generation iPod nano has been hacked by developer and hacker James Whelton. James was able to hack the nano by bypassing its cache comparison and installing a Springboard hack. For now, this only allows you to delete one of the pre-installed apps and create a blank spot. This may not seem like much, but it does demonstrate that the nano can be altered. James is quick to point out, however, that the nano has not been jailbroken, ďI do not ...

Apple may look, sound, and act like the biggest dog on the smartphone block, but Android is a big enough player in the neighborhood that Apple can - and should - respond when appropriate to Andriod's business and marketing strategies. On Monday, in fact, the Huffington Post teed-up a big question poised to confront Apple in 2011: exactly how will Cupertino react to Android's apparent "how low ...

Another piece of Apple history is up for sale on eBay, a Macintosh Portable. This unit is a prototype and was not intended for resale. The Mac Portable was Apples first attempt at building a Mac that could be taken with you. There have been quite a few auctions recently offering historic Apple computers. If these auctions are any indication, then this unit should fetch more than its $1750 starting price.

    According ...

As a new Congress prepares to assume power in Washington, a longstanding restriction is about to be lifted in the hallowed chambers. For the first time, iDevices will be allowed for use on the floor of the US House of Representatives. If the new rule is adopted - and it's expected to be adopted at the start of the 112th Congress - members would, however, be required to silence their iPhones, BlackBerrys, iPads, ...

The iPhone may be one of the world's most popular smartphones, but that apparently doesn't translate to all of its owners being equally as "smart" as the phone. Case in point: Jerome Taylor, who discovered during this holiday weekend that the iPhone makes a terrible "weapon" with which to rob an Indian restaurant in Connecticut.

An incredible story widely reported over the Christmas ...

The drama surrounding the SHAtter exploit continues. A Dutch dev threatened to leak the code last week, and even though that threat was thought to have subsided, someone apparently did go ahead and leak SHAtter Wednesday. This led to a Twitter fight between p0sixninja and MuscleNerd, whom p0six had accused of being the leaker. Musclenerd denies this, but according to p0sixninja, SHAtter has been burned. ...
