The Apple Watch is rated at IPX7 water resistance, which means it can be used while showering, exercising (sweat), and even while it's raining, but Apple recommends against submerging it in water. Although the Apple Watch has already been through a series of water resistance tests and just about always comes out unscathed, many are still hesitant to let even a single drop of water near the device in fear that something will go wrong.
Ray Maker, a technology blogger, has decided to put the Apple Watch's water resistance ratings to the test to see exactly what it can take. In his tests, he puts the Apple Watch up to the task of surviving three main tests: 1) A 1000m swim, 2) A high diving board jump, 3) A waterproof test chamber run.
