iFaith was updated as insurance for iOS 5.0 for you.

iH8sn0w released the updated iFaith not too long ago as I reported earlier this week and it allowed you to save your SHSH blobs and APticket for iOS 5.0 and let you build a custom '.ipsw' file that you could use to restore to iOS 5.0 in iTunes at any time. We already went over that though and there will be another guide coming up that explains how to use that custom '.ipsw' file to downgrade to iOS 5.0. In this guide, we will be showing you how to save your information and build your '.ipsw' file.

    YOU WILL NEED:
    1. A Windows machine (or Mac running Windows)
    2. iFaith version 1.4
    3. An iOS 5.0 iDevice.

The first step is to plug your iDevice into your computer and download iFaith from ...

Apple’s Grand Central Store opened today at 10 a.m. The result? A fleshy, slow-moving, sea of humans christened the previously untouched premises.

The number of videos, and pictures documenting the massive collection of people is extensive. Apple enthusiasts and unlucky saps looking to board a train but instead got sucked in by the massive groups gravitational pull patiently waited for the store to open. When it finally did, ...

Motorola won the first of two patent-infringement cases against Apple’s European sales division based in Ireland, granting Motorola an injunction against all of the infringing products in Europe.

The number of products covered by the suit is downright staggering. This is a major blow to Apple and a perfect example of patent war blowback. A quick rundown of the products Apple can no longer sell in Germany:

Mirror's Edge is a popular iOS game that's free today only!

Are you an avid iOS gamer? The iPhone 4S brings us a dual core GPU that can render graphics seven to eight times faster than the iPhone 4 as shown by benchmarks in previous reports. Albeit the iPhone 4S has an amazing graphics engine, the iPhone 4 was never slow to begin with and the iPod touch 4G has the same processing unit as the iPhone 4. That means that anyone can enjoy this awesome ...

Vintage Camera Pro is a fun tool for photography in the Apple App Store.

Photography is fun. One thing that helps make photography more fun is having editing tools built right into your camera. How often is that, though? It turns out that most cameras so not have editing in them because that's just what they are; cameras. Smartphones, on the other hand, are cameras and handheld computers. While a smartphone will never replace a high quality DSLR Digital Camera, they can make easy quick substitutes for the casual photograph ...

Pod2G has another thing that will put a smile on your faces!

Use iFaith and save your APticket for iOS 5.0. And then....Pod2G has confirmed via Twitter that the Chronic Dev Team's untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 will in fact work on iOS 5.0.1. I suggest that anyone using iOS 4 still upgrades to iOS 5.0.1 so that you won't be trapped in the upcoming iOS 5.1 update. That will in fact not be ...

The Chonic Dev Team has an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5!

We've all been waiting for it. The awesome freedom that an untethered jailbreak gives us. From now until the beta; it's seemed like an eternity, we've been using either a tethered iOS 5 jailbreak (or semi-tethered) or we have been using the untethered iOS 4 jailbreak. The super stubborn people stayed on iOS 4 to keep their untethered jailbreaks and the super anxious people either updated to ...

Chrono Trigger, arguably the best sprite-based Japanese RPG ever made, is finally available for iOS.

I downloaded it. Have started playing it. And the nostalgia is overwhelming.

For the unfamiliar, Chrono Trigger was released in 1995 and is a traditional sprite-based RPG in the vein of Final Fantasy titles before FF Vll. The iOS version is gorgeous and appears to be a high-res port of the Nintendo ...

After an extensive period of beta testing and refining, a new Google product comes to fruition. Today, Google unveiled the brand new social publishing platform called “Currents.” The project, which was previously known under the “Propeller” code-name is a mobile app that is available on both Android and iOS devices. Publishers are given the option to package their content in a magazine-style web app, which is presented on tablets and smartphones with HTML5 usage.

Remember this little guy up here?

iFile is perhaps the greatest and most well-known file browser for iOS. iFile lets you visit any directory in your iDevice and lets you edit, add, delete, or move files within your filesystem. It lets you do it right from your iDevice, no SSH or USB browser necessary. This means that you can edit things on the fly without needing a computer to follow you around.

If you don't know by now, the iPhone has a filesystem just like any Mac or PC. iOS's filesystem is just closed off to you until you jailbreak it. The filesystem can be a very fragile part of any iDevice just like any computer and deleting files or editing them irresponsibly has the full potential to lead you to needing to restore your iDevice to factory ...

After you jailbreak ([follow our guides if you haven't), you have the ability to change any aspect of your device. Cydia is a store that contains countless applications and tweaks (software packages that change your device configurations). A tweak can do something as minor as changing the color of something or as major as letting you use full screen browsing in Mobile Safari - and much more. Some are free and some are paid. Cydia also has various applications and themes; some Apple never accepted into the App Store, such as Grooveshark.

This guide is intended for beginner level jailbreakers and will show you how to install and uninstall a jailbreak tweak.

    Installing a Jailbreak Tweak

To begin, make sure that you have a jailbroken ...
