The Cydia store is endless, relentless, and mind-knumbing. What could you possibly install next?

Some of you are first-time iPhone jailbreakers. Some of you bought the iPhone 4S when it was released and haven't had a jailbreak since you got rid of your older iDevice. If you have become rusty over the time you've waited for a jailbreak or you are new the to scene, then this synopsis should help you discover some interesting new and classic jailbreak applications or tweaks that you could install on your iPhone 4S to improve upon its already endless functionality. Anyone with a jailbreak on any other iDevice can use this synopsis for recommendations as well, but I am writing it to help people with the newer iPhone ...

This quick guide will tell you how to set a custom boot logo on iOS 5.0.1.

One thing that many people liked about the Chronic Dev Team's untethered greenpois0n jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 was the ability to set custom boot logos. Unfortunately, as time has passed, jailbreak tools have stopped supporting native boot logos for the iDevice lineup. Setting a custom boot logo, however, has still never been easier. You need to install three things ...

    {last updated February 1st, 2012}

This OS X only guide (Windows guide here) will teach you how to jailbreak various devices using Absinthe. The current version of Absinthe is 0.4. Note this is an UNTETHERED JAILBREAK, meaning you can reboot your phone just like you normally would.

This guide should be used with the following device/firmware combinations (if you're not sure, here's how to find your iOS firmware version and how to find your iOS device type):
    • iPhone 4S | 5.0 (9A334)
    • iPhone 4S | 5.0.1 (9A405)
    • iPhone 4S | “other” 5.0.1 (9A406)
    • iPad2 | 5.0.1 (9A405)

If you prefer the simpler version ...

    It's here. It's finally here!

@P0sixninja (Joshua Hill)z tweeted minutes ago the A5 jailbreak is live, and it is available for download at www.greenpois0n.com. However, it seems the massive demand for the jailbreak has crushed the site's servers as repeated attempts to access the site returned an "Error establishing a database connection."

Here is the download link courtesy of @pod2g. ...

MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev Team recently tweeted about a new blog post on the Dev Team’s blog. The post titled “Corona A5 jailbreak nearly ready to pop!” discusses the current state of the soon to be released jailbreak for the A5 based devices (the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S). He claims that the jailbreak is “nearly ready” for a public release with the combine effort of @pod2g, members of the iPhone Dev Team, and members of the Chronic Dev Team. All of the obstacles that previously ...

Apple recently purchased a 349 million micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS) microphones last year to put in its various iOS devices, making the Cupertino California company the biggest purchaser of such microphones in the world. This number grew a whopping 173% from 2010 to 2011, putting Apple up over Samsung for the most microphones bought (and presumably installed and used).

The mobile social gaming giant that we all know about (whether we like it or not), Zynga, has made four more acquisitions in mobile gaming. Having already picked up a few iOS and mobile development companies in the past, this could be leading up to something big.

This time around, the largest company acquired is a company from Germany named Gamedoctors, makers of the very popular ZombieSmash title. ...

Marietta, known for it's diner and apparently stupid criminals

Earlier this week Marietta Police made a large narcotics bust at the Autumn View Apartments on Franklin Road outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Their big lead? A stolen iPhone and the Find My iPhone app.

A guest in a nearby hotel reported his iPhone stolen and with permission police used the “Find My iPhone App” to locate the man’s phone. Officers ...

Time Warner Cable updated their streaming cable app today enabling live TV streaming on the iPhone.

Before the update streaming live cable content was only possible on the iPad. The update includes support for both the iPhone and iPod Touch, and customers can stream their cable subscription over their home WiFi only. Sadly, the app reportedly hates jailbroken iOS devices. Just a heads ...

Today's Apple event about education was certainly no joke.

iTunes U, an education tool for instructors and students, has been made into an iOS application that works on iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. The application is capable of audio, books, video, and more - all depending on what an instructor might need to distribute to teach a course. This makes it easy for instructors (college, K-12, or universities) to hand out audio and video lectures so that ...
