A few of you may be familiar with the Nintendo DS feature called Picto-chat, which was basically a way to message your friends over Wi-Fi. In Picto-chat you could not only type out messages, but you could also draw them and draw pictures to go with them. A new jailbreak tweak dubbed Grafiti by iOS developer Ian Pappas is now live in Cydia that accomplishes something similar on iOS devices through text messaging.

Grafiti is ultimately made to resemble an international keyboard in iOS. ...

According to IDC’s latest research, smartphones are shipping faster than they have been in previous years. A statement, which we probably could of guessed ourselves considering we see more and more people with smartphones nowadays. Roughly 406 million units were shipped in Q2 2012, up from 401.8 million units in Q2 2011. The shipments for smartphones also ended up eyeing a large year-over-year increase ...

We learned Friday that Apple has agreed to buy mobile tech security developer AuthenTec Inc. According to insider accounts, Apple will cough up more than $350 million to close the deal.

If you're not familiar, AuthenTec is a leading maker of a cutting-edge fingerprint sensor technology that, presumably, will come to a future-generation iPhone as the company ramps up efforts to make the device the safest ...

Out of all of the themes we saw this week, 4 Real [HD] by Sanady361 took the winning spot as this week’s theme of the week because of the careful attention to detail that the theme includes.

4 Real [HD] has a great appearance everywhere you look. The theme will theme every icon on your home screen. There are over 100 different supported application icons that will be changed and for those where the icons aren’t changed, the icons are skinned by the theme’s square-like ...

Pictures of what looks like Apple’s upcoming iPhone 5 surfaced today on a Chinese manufacturer's website.

It's nearly impossible to tell whether or not this is an actual prototype, a production unit smuggled out of Foxconn’s facilities or a very elaborate mock-up based on speculation. Apple’s production timeline and production capabilities allow the company to delay mass producing products ...

It appears that Best Buy's Web site has decreased the cost of the iPhone 4 from $99 with a two-year contract agreement to half of that – 49.99 with a two-year contract agreement, shipped. The iPhone 4 from Best Buy's Web site comes in both black and white with your choice of GSM or CDMA iPhone 4 models and carriers. It only comes in the limited 8GB storage, unfortunately.

Popular marketing research firm J.D. Power and Associates recently named Verizon Wireless the #1 carrier in the U.S. in terms of customer service. This also happens to be Verizon’s third time landing the title as well.

The firm came to this conclusion based on how well a company scores in three areas of customer service. These three areas include: online, telephone, and walk-in (retail stores). As ...

The court documents for Apple’s upcoming jury trial against Samsung have revealed a number of very early iPad and iPhone design prototypes. Ironically, the prototypes have some resemblance to mock-ups of the company’s next-generation handset. These prototypes were found in unredacted court exhibits which were filed recently, offering a look at the extremely secretive design process that Apple products typically undergo before ...

Google Handwrite is a neat feature available today in beta from the mobile version of their Web site that allows the user to write out Google searches with their fingers instead of using a keyboard to tap on keys. The feature requires a touch screen to use, but it’s pretty nifty. As the video demonstrates, Google Handwrite works on a variety of mobile phones and tablets including Apple's iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.

While not the barn-burner iPhone sales enjoyed by AT&T and Verizon, Sprint today posted earnings for the second fiscal quarter of 2012 and iPhone sales weren't too shabby.

In fact, while iPhone sales have dipped elsewhere in Q2 over Q1, Sprint managed to sell 1.5 million iPhones, which is identical to the number of iPhones sold by Sprint in the first quarter. 40 percent of those devices sold in Q2 ...

Apple announced iOS 6 at WWDC this year with a big focus on the Maps application, which got a complete overhaul. The Maps application no longer relies on Google Maps technology (the torch was handed to TomTom) and the application now includes a few really awesome and highly demanded features such as turn-by-turn navigation, and 3D maps, which give you the feeling of hovering above cities to see them from the perspective of being ...
