The size of the average application being launched in the App Store is growing, says a report by ABI Research.

According to the report, the larger retina displays in Apple’s newer devices have caused a massive increase in the size of all applications, but games have been the most affected by the change. Spanning all of the genres of applications of Apple's iOS App Store, the average application size in the month of September ...

If you have been waiting a long time to get your hands on Apple’s new iPhone 5 due to the long shipping wait times, then some good news has surfaced. Foxconn says productivity is "improving."

Foxconn has been the main assembler of several of Apple's devices. Out of all of them, Foxconn notes how the iPhone 5 is the "most difficult" to produce due to its "complicated" thin and light design. Over the ...

We know how you guys love customizing your iOS devices, so we’re going to show you a great new jailbreak tweak called Ostium by iOS developer danyl. With Ostium, you get a brand new Notification Center animation (illustrated above) that not only looks differently, but also behaves differently when you interact with the screen using your fingers.

The animation sort of resembles window curtains being opened. What’s cool about Ostium is that it’s not just an animation tweak, but it’s also a functional tweak, ...

A source who claims to be familiar with Apple’s retail operations recently said that the Cupertino California company is going to roll out changes to the existing EasyPay point-of-sale system to include payments from Passbook by the end of October. This should bring support for the iOS 6 feature to the company’s retail stores going forward. The source went on to say that Passbook users will likely be ...

Last week ModMyi showed you a free jailbreak tweak called TitleSpeak that could be used to speak the titles of banner notifications. Granted it was free, speaking only the banner notification title isn’t as useful as speaking the whole notification. The same 13 year old developer behind TitleSpeak has brought us another free jailbreak tweak dubbed VSNotifications and it includes many more features including those of TitleSpeak.

Being that VSNotifications has many more features, it has the grounds to compete with other jailbreak ...

On October 11th, MMi reported that Japan's Softbank had entered into talks that could result in the majority takeover
of Sprint Nextel. On Monday, we can now confirm these plans.

Softbank, Japan’s third-largest mobile-phone company, will purchase a whopping 70 percent of Sprint Nextel in a deal purportedly worth just north of $20 billion.

To say that Apple and Samsung have a contentious relationship would be the understatement of the century. Further illustrating the bad blood between the two tech titans, on Monday a new report out of Asia addressed Apple's compounding desire to cut all ties with Samsung.

As MMi has reported in recent weeks, Apple is said to be interested in eliminating its reliance on Samsung for the manufacturing of its ...

Updated Geekbench benchmarks show that Apple’s new fifth-generation iPod touch is much less powerful than the iPhone 5. The iPod touch 5G has Apple’s older A5 chip and the iPhone 5 has apple’s brand new A6 chip, but another interesting point is that the iPod touch 5G shows a lower score than the iPhone 4S, which uses the same A5 chip.

The iPhone 5’s A6 chip is clocked at 1.3Ghz, as ModMyi reported ...

They’re not exactly the type of screenshot pictures that we would expect from someone with an iPhone, however it could be that the iOS developer testing the application, Ben Guild, needed to hide certain elements from the public.

These pictures supposedly display pieces of the Google Maps application that Google has been rumored to be working on for the App Store. The reason for Google working on such ...

Here are the best jailbreak creations for the week of October 8th until today, October 14th as per the opinion of our staff. This is a weekly recap.

    1. QuickEmoji – FREE

QuickEmoji is a new free tweak by iOS developer iAmharic that replaces the punctuation row of keys in symbol view (not number view) of your keyboard with Emoji shortcuts. Since the punctuation keys appear in both keyboard views, it feels redundant. This tweak works whether you have the Emoji keyboard enabled or ...
