iOS displays the Status Bar in most applications so the user can see important information such as the battery percentage and current time, however not everyone feels the need to see this information in the middle of using their device. If you have come accustomed to full-screen applications in OS X Mountain Lion or Lion, then a new and free jailbreak tweak dubbed Maximization by iOS developer Rudolf Lichtner may excite you.

Maximization, once installed, forces full-screen application interfaces in every ...

Earlier in the month we showed you a way to download files on iOS with Google Chrome. The jailbreak tweak that allowed us to do this was dubbed Chrome Download Enabler and while it got the job done well, it lacked something special – a download manager. Today, a new jailbreak tweak called Chrome Download Manager, by iOS developer Skram, is now available in Cydia and it allows you to download files with a visual download manager.

You can see important details such as the file size of the file you are downloading, your ...

A few of you may be familiar with the Nintendo DS feature called Picto-chat, which was basically a way to message your friends over Wi-Fi. In Picto-chat you could not only type out messages, but you could also draw them and draw pictures to go with them. A new jailbreak tweak dubbed Grafiti by iOS developer Ian Pappas is now live in Cydia that accomplishes something similar on iOS devices through text messaging.

Grafiti is ultimately made to resemble an international keyboard in iOS. ...

Out of all of the themes we saw this week, 4 Real [HD] by Sanady361 took the winning spot as this week’s theme of the week because of the careful attention to detail that the theme includes.

4 Real [HD] has a great appearance everywhere you look. The theme will theme every icon on your home screen. There are over 100 different supported application icons that will be changed and for those where the icons aren’t changed, the icons are skinned by the theme’s square-like ...

It appears that Best Buy's Web site has decreased the cost of the iPhone 4 from $99 with a two-year contract agreement to half of that – 49.99 with a two-year contract agreement, shipped. The iPhone 4 from Best Buy's Web site comes in both black and white with your choice of GSM or CDMA iPhone 4 models and carriers. It only comes in the limited 8GB storage, unfortunately.

With yesterday’s release of OS X Mountain Lion as a digital download for $19.99 in the Mac App Store, Apple also released a free update to Safari (dubbed Safari 6) for Mac OS X Lion users. The updated version of Safari already comes packed into OS X Mountain Lion, so OS X Mountain Lion newcomers did not need to download the updated version of Apple’s native Web browser like Mac OS X Lion users had to.

Google Handwrite is a neat feature available today in beta from the mobile version of their Web site that allows the user to write out Google searches with their fingers instead of using a keyboard to tap on keys. The feature requires a touch screen to use, but it’s pretty nifty. As the video demonstrates, Google Handwrite works on a variety of mobile phones and tablets including Apple's iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.

Apple announced iOS 6 at WWDC this year with a big focus on the Maps application, which got a complete overhaul. The Maps application no longer relies on Google Maps technology (the torch was handed to TomTom) and the application now includes a few really awesome and highly demanded features such as turn-by-turn navigation, and 3D maps, which give you the feeling of hovering above cities to see them from the perspective of being ...

When you’re in full-screen applications, such as the ZombieSmash game illustrated above, you cannot see the time in the status bar because there is no status bar. It’s also not preferred to close the application to see the status bar nor to open Notification Center in the middle of a game because then you interrupt your gaming. However, one issue still remains: How do you know when to call it quits when you can’t even see the time?

    A new free jailbreak ...

With today’s release of OS X Mountain Lion as a digital download in the Mac App Store, it appears that Apple has also made the choice of hiding Mac OS X Lion from the public's grasp so that users will have difficulty finding the older operating system from the Mac App Store.

Currently, the Mac OS X Lion installer cannot be found in the Mac App Store by using the search bar. Users also will not find ...

With today’s digital launch of OS X Mounain Lion from Apple, the Mac App Store also has seen an explosion of software updates. The updates don’t appear to be limited to OS X Mountain Lion users, as it appears iTunes U (free from this link) from the iOS App Store also gets a nice little update to version 1.2 that will benefit most users of the application.

The application now comes with a feature that ...
