Is your computer life hectic? Are all of those extraneous windows floating around keeping you from concentrating?

If a Mac OS X computer is one of your main tools of choice for getting work done, then while multitasking can be daunting. It isn't because Mac OS X has bad multitasking, it's because of the way that we perceive things. When we have a lot of Windows open at once, we get distracted - plain and simple. Coming to the rescue to help ...

    Make multitasking more fun.

Apple's App Switcher, introduced in iOS 4, is well designed and nice-looking, however don't you wish it could do more? iOS developer Fr0zen Sun definitely wished so - therefore a new jailbreak tweak dubbed Simplexity was born. Simplexity serves the purposes of making the App Switcher more intuitive, functional, and appealing. It has deep customization settings that you can use to make it look and behave the way you want it to on your iDevice. Below is a screenshot ...

Check this out - animations for switching between applications.

iOS, as we know, comes with the stock animation for application switching that kind of shuffles the applications around like each application is a card; the animation is horizontal by default. Now, thanks to a new jailbreak tweak dubbed Jepit by iOS developer VincenzoBB, we have the ability to customize our switching animation by just flipping a couple of switches. Above is a screenshot showing all of ...

How would you like to have books in your Newsstand application?

iOS 5 shipped with a new application - or should I say 'folder-looking-thing' that contains all of your magazines, newspapers, and subscriptions of that sort from Apple's online store. For many of us, it is the most useless application that we could have ever asked for because almost all of the subscriptions cost money - something that a lot of us don't feel the need to spend. For this reason, many tweaks have been invented to ...

Want a banner when your iDevice begins a new song?

If you have ever wanted to know what song your iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad just switched to, then there is a great free jailbreak tweak available on the BigBoss repo by iOS developer and hacker Ryan Petrich dubbed MusicBanners. As you can see from the image above, MusicBanners renders an iOS 5 notification banner with your song information, album artwork, and Music application icon on it. This banner appears ...

Does Siri take up too much room for you?

If you feel like Siri has a large graphical user interface and you want to shrink it a little to make it appear smaller, then maybe it's time to put Siri on a diet with a new jailbreak tweak by iOS developer Ron Melkhior. The tweak has been dubbed TinyAssistant and it compresses the Siri GUI into an App Switcher-sized window.

TinyAssistant allows you to lose the, "What can I help you with?" quote bubble and it really tightens ...

So, you've downloaded Spire, but you want to get Siri functionality.

Spire is the Siri GUI port that was brought to use by Grant Paul and Ryan Petrich. It works on any iOS 5 iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch (excluding the iPhone 4S since Siri is already there). It isn't a full port; it is a GUI that lacks Siri functionality until the user gets that functionality themselves. There are a few ways to get that functionality. One way is to set up your own Siri server and use your own (or someone else's) iPhone 4S as the go-to to using Siri. This means that you will need to update your own server with new iPhone 4S keys daily.

If the daily routine of updating your server's keys sounds absolutely cumbersome to you, then there is the painless option of using Siri server hosts. Almost all of them support Spire. There are many ...

Check out this new Notification Center launching animation.

Flowtation is a jailbreak tweak invented by Ori Kadosh that lets you have a new kind of animation for launching Notification Center. The original goal was to take one of Max Rudberg's designs and make it a reality, however the initial launch didn't quite yield the exact same results as Rudberg's videos did. Because of this, Ori released his original concept as a whole new animation ...

Many of you have been asking for it since the A5 untethered jailbreak release.

iOS developer Filippo Bigarella has been hard at work on Springtomize 2; the iOS 5-compatible version of Springtomize (our review here) that lets you customize just about any appearance or performance of your SpringBoard. The settings are almost endless, and for just $2.99, you are getting an extremely action-packed application that is ...

Siri has never been more open to customization; until now.

One thing that I'm sure many people want with Siri is the ability to make her as useful as their imaginations can whip up. Let's say, for example, you wanted to have Siri obey commands that you create all by yourself instead of the commands that Apple pre-loads into Siri. If this is the case, then you might want to check out a new jailbreak tweak dubbed MyAssistant by iOS developers Akhil Tolani and Andrea Olivia.

MyAssistant is the first step toward making Siri react to the words that you create - that's right, you can ...
