Launching Siri is easy – press and hold the home button for a few seconds and then she will pop up. Sometimes things happen; your home button breaks, you are in a position where you can’t press and hold the home button, or you’re just lazy. In all of these situations, a new free jailbreak tweak dubbed LockAssistant by iOS developer FreeManRepo will let you launch Siri from the lock screen of your iDevice by tapping on the iOS 5 camera button. ...

With iOS 5, Apple gave us a button on our lock screen that can be used to rapidly access our Camera application. The button is invoked by pressing the home button twice while on the lock screen and then tapping on it launches the Camera. While this was a great idea, most can agree that it would be great if we could make that button more useful by allowing the implementation of customization for the button’s uses. A new jailbreak tweak dubbed LSCameraExtender by iOS developer Nicolas ...

When we unlock our iDevices, we are used to seeing the same regular animation and hearing the same regular sound on all of them. If you have ever been in the mood to give that animation and unlock sound a little tweaking, then there is a new jailbreak tweak that will suit your needs. Dubbed iUnock by iOS developer Ma Jun, you can set a custom unlock sound as well as an unlock animation of your choice.

Not only can you select the animation that will brighten ...

Twook is a handy social networking manager that can be used to post statuses, pictures, and links on multiple social networking sites. It’s a manager, not an integrator – this means that you cannot use twook as a medium for mass-posting on every site at once, however you can use it as a single application instead of needing to have an application installed for each social networking site. With the way that twook is handled, you can mass-post a message, however you will have to tap on the post button for each site to get your message up on every social networking site – on the bright side, you won't need ...

While social networking can be a very large part of our lives these days, they can be very equally frustrating. If you post something on Twitter, it doesn’t go to Facebook. If you post something on Facebook, it doesn’t go to Instagram. It you post something to Tumblr, it doesn’t go to some other social networking site. Granted, Twitter and some other social networking places have settings to post to some other sites, wouldn’t it be great if you could use one application ...

One thing about iOS notifications that really peeves many is when getting notifications from a variety of applications, many of them make the same alerting noise – the iOS tri-tone. The sounds that you can choose to use with iOS notifications are limited only to system applications such as Messages, Phone, and some others – third party applications cannot be customized. This can make it very problematic trying to discern between which application is trying ...

Introducing WeeRoll – a newfangled jailbreak tweak designed by iOS developer PathKiller29. WeeRoll makes your iDevice capable of displaying different kinds of animations when you pull Notification Center down from the status bar (iOS 5-only). The animations vary from one that we’ve seen in Ori Kadosh’s Flowtation jailbreak tweak to twelve other ones that we have not yet seen. WeeRoll ultimately feels like Barrel for Notification Center in that the animations are ...

iPegs is a new game available in the Cydia store by iOS developer Jake Schultz. The point of the game is to make the ball you drop from the top of the screen hit the green "next " goal in each level. As you progress through all of the 45 levels, the game play gets harder with more advanced barricade types. Jake has also informed us in the Cydia description that he plans to add more levels as a free update in the near future. What’s more is that this Cydia version is a pre-release of the game, which will be submitted to the Apple App Store in about two weeks.

    iPegs requires patience, ...

Here are the best jailbreak creations for the week of February 13th until today, February 19th as per the opinion of our staff.

    1. AssistantConnect/AssistantConnect4S - FREE

AssistantConnect is a tool brought to life by iOS developer Bilal S. Sayed Ahmad to make Siri simpler to set up on older iDevices running Spire. To use it you merely need to have access to a jailbroken iPhone 4S and a jailbroken iDevice running iOS 5 with Spire installed on it. From there, you can use the AssistantConnect application ...

Graviboard is a classic jailbreak tweak by iOS developer Conrad Kramer that adds physics to your iDevice’s home screen. Graviboard has been awaiting iOS 5-compatibility for some time now being that it only worked on iOS 4. It adds physics by providing you with the illusion that gravity can affect your home-screen’s icon placement. With today’s release of Graviboard 2, you can now experience these remarkable effects on your iOS 5 devices just as you had missed them from your older devices.

As the screenshot above shows, the icons are all over the place. The effects of Graviboard only work when ...
