Unless you have some sort of quick-composition tweak installed on your device such as Messages+, iRealSMS, or biteSMS, you have to manually open the messages application to compose a text message. The same goes for composing emails, making phone calls, and launching Web sites. Wouldn’t it be great if a simple Activator action would allow us to do all of these things? Now with a new jailbreak tweak dubbed CallActivator by iOS developer VincenzoBB, Activator can do all of these things; you simply input ...

Sn0wbreeze is a Windows alternative to using redsn0w to jailbreak your iDevices by iOS hacker iH8sn0w. Granted redsn0w also has a Windows counterpart, sn0wbreeze does not have a Mac version. The newest sn0wbreeze update, version 2.9.2, now supports iOS 5.1 for a tethered jailbreak on all non-A5 devices. The iPhone 3GS with the old bootrom will still have an untethered jailbreak as they always have ...

Do you remember Tether? Back in November of 2011, they brought us a $14.99 App Store application, which allowed us to share our iPhone’s 3G data connection with another device. Many applications have snuck past Apple’s watchful eye into the App Store supporting tethering features, however with a name like 'iTether' it’s almost humiliating for them not to have caught it when it was submitted. What's even funnier is the ...

It shows elegant, light blue circles where your finger comes into contact with the touch screen and will follow your finger wherever you tap, pinch, or swipe. Shortcuts, shortcuts, and more shortcuts; they make iOS so pleasing to use. When do we draw the line? A quick answer – we don’t, because jailbreaking means unlimited possibilities.

If you find it extremely difficult to look on your home screen to find the application you want to launch, or to search SpotLight for the application you want to launch, or to launch Siri and tell her to open an application after installing a third party Siri addon to give her that functionality, ...

MenuWeather is an absolutely drop-dead gorgeous new weather application for the iOS device lineup by iOS developer Evan Coleman. The features are extensive, the appearance is nothing less than eye candy, and the user interface is absolutely simple to use. As soon as you download the application and launch it for the first time, you are greeted with a nice tutorial that shows and tells you how to use the application with both words and miniature animated demos. It even takes full advantage of the retina display on the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and iPod touch 4G. MenuWeather will find and use your current location automatically and still give you ...

The inevitable window has finally closed. Apple has officially ended the signing period for downgrading back to iOS 5.0.1 for all iDevices. A5 devices are now immovable from iOS 5.1 if they have been updated until a solution for downgrading can be found. SHSH blobs will not do you any good for downgrading an A5 device at this time.

A4 devices on the other hand, which support iOS 5.0.1 firmware, ...

Are you angry at the fact of Apple removing lyric functionality in the iPad’s Music application in iOS 5? A new jailbreak tweak dubbed Lyricalizer by iOS developer ac3xx will permit you to get those lyrics back where they belong and they will display very attractively over the large album artwork, which takes advantage of the iPad’s large screen. Numberbook is a new free application, which has just made it to the Cydia store. It will allow you to look up people’s phone numbers by name or to look up people’s names by phone number. This functionality is a very popular demand for almost all phone users and will prove helpful if you need a number. Numberbook supports several worldwide countries (so many that we can't list them all), and requires an internet (data or Wi-Fi) connection to use.

After opening the application you find ...

When Apple announced the new iPad yesterday, they also introduced 4G LTE technologies to the tablet for the first time for faster cellular data when performing Internet tasks on the fly. With that, they also told us we would be able to use the new iPad as a tethering hotspot with the 4G LTE network. They continued by explaining to us that AT&T and Verizon would be the only two companies offering the new iPad – Sprint will not ...

Following the release of The new iPad yesterday, Apple left one major question unanswered: how much random access memory will the iPad have? The iPad 2 holds 512MB, but The new iPad will reportedly have 1GB to help work with the powerhouse dual core A5X chip and quad core graphics. "This new device has more memory and higher screen resolution than an Xbox 360 or PS3," (Mike Capps – Epic Games).
