  • The evasi0n Jailbreak Now Up to 91% Completion, Final Testing Begins

    Just following the evad3rs’ announcement that evasi0n, the world’s first untethered iOS 6 jailbreak, would be released on Monday, the evad3rs have updated the evasi0n.com Web site so that the status reads 91% completion. The tool has entered the final testing stages, and primary testing has concluded. According to the Web site, and the evad3rs, the next step is releasing the tool.

    The evasi0n iOS 6 untethered jailbreak will support iOS 6.0, iOS 6.0.1, iOS 6.0.2, and iOS 6.1 for all devices that can run those firmwares. This includes the new iPhone 5, iPod touch 5G, iPad with retina display, and iPad Mini. The tools will be available for Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux as a free download from the evasi0n Web site when the time comes.

    According to the Web site, the requirements for the jailbreak are as follows:

    • 5 minutes of your time!
    • A computer, running Windows (XP minimum), Mac OS X (10.5 minimum) or Linux (x86 / x86_64)
    • An iPhone, iPad or iPod running iOS 6.0 through 6.1 (you may check in Settings / General / About => Version)
    • A USB cable to connect the device to the computer

    While we wait for the evad3rs to finish their final testing, it is a good idea to prepare your iOS devices for the jailbreak by following our short guide on getting to the latest firmware the jailbreak will support. We’ve also created a list of ten jailbreak tweaks that are worth checking out when the iOS 6 jailbreak drops.

    Developers are working hard to get their jailbreak tweaks and applications ready for the jailbreak, as large apps like IntelliScreenX, MyWi, LockInfo, and Springtomize 2, are already ready to be installed on the latest firmware.

    This is it folks, are you excited now that we have an official release day?

      According to the timer changing every 1.6666-1.75 hrs, the jailbreak 'should' release in approximately 3-3.5 hrs. We'll see!!!

      Hey, here's something we haven't talked about: Will this be a downloadable tool for jailbreaking (like Absinthe)? Or an HTTP jailbreak method like Comex's 4.3.5?

      And how much server logjam is there usually for downloading a jailbreak tool itself? Do you just keep clicking to stay in the queue ?

      goto http://evasi0n.com , paste "javascript:var date = new Date(rough);alert(date);" (no quotes), enter.

      Or better yet, paste:

      javascript:alert(new Date(rough));

      Clear its a tool you must download with the need for a computer and a USB cable. That's why they have to make one for each OS. Comex's JBme.com was /browser/ based so all he had to do was make the web page live.

      Pod2g confirmed it will be released when its gets to 100% which is determined by the algorithm code embedded in the web page. It will hit 100% at 12pm EST. 3 hrs 22 mins to go.
