Add Springiness to Your iOS Animations With '%hook's Law'
iOS hacker and developer chpwn
, the creator of Zephyr and the Infiniapps, has just launched a new free jailbreak tweak in the Cydia Store today called %hook’s law
. The tweak adds a springy animation to all of the animations in iOS, such as the animation of opening applications, navigation animations, and the animation of unlocking your iOS device, so everything will feel more bouncy.
As shown above, you can insert your own values into the preferences pane to yield different results. The default values are already plenty bouncy, but if you're into customization, then you're probably going to get your hands dirty with this.
Chpwn explains the reasoning behind the odd name of the tweak in a Tweet, saying that it’s a pun on %hook, which has to do with iPhone development, and Hooke’s Law
(F = kX), which has to do with the force needed to compress a spring and stuff – the springiness. Yeah it’s all complicated physics, so we won’t bore you with that one!
The animations of %hook's law are easily noticeable and they’re pretty neat. When you get the chance to open Cydia, be sure to check this tweak out. It’s fully compatible with iOS 6.1.
