  • WinterBoard Now Fully Compatible With iOS 6.1 and A6 CPU, Veency Updated Too

Themers will be happy to hear this – WinterBoard is now fully compatible with all iOS versions up to iOS 6.1 and also now supports the new A6 CPU, which is housed inside of the new iPhone 5, and the A6X CPU is housed inside of the new iPad with retina display. Both of these devices will be included in the untethered iOS 6 jailbreak called evasi0n, which as of this writing is around 85% complete.

WinterBoard officially states the compatibility on the Cydia page:

While WinterBoard now officially supports these new devices, the same cannot be said for all themes. Theme creators will also be working to update their themes to bring support for iOS 6 and the new application icons that come with it, such as the updated Maps application and the new Passbook application. Some themes have already been updated, while many more are still in the works.

Saurik has also announced an update to Veency, the VNC application for iOS, saying that Veency is now iOS 6-compatible. According to the Tweet, Veency will run on iOS 6.0 and iOS 6.1. Veency allows you to log into your iOS device and control it remotely from a computer with a VNC client installed:

Both packages are available in Cydia for free. The updated version of Veency is version 0.9.3380 and the updated version of WinterBoard is version 0.9.3908.

I'm getting tired if this argument. I really don't understand why you can't wrap your head around the fact that there were areas that weren't theming. UIImages was not working 100%. Some items worked and some didn't. I'm not making this up, it has been stated by many that were running ios6 on an iph4. I myself witnessed it on my test phone. That's why I went back to 5.1.1, just accept it. If it were fine, then why update it. Saurik got to JB an iph5 and was then able to fix it and some other key tweaks. Sorry, but that's just the way it is.

Yes. Touché, my friend. Good distinction to make!

      Yup!!

Remember we'll all use many tweaks these next several weeks after the JB that won't be 100% up to date - but they'll be functional. That's fine with me. Heck -- I'm still using BackBoard which hasn't had 'compatibility' since 3GS! LOL!!! But does it work? Yep. Flawlessly on iOS4 and 5 and it'll work on 6 too I bet.

You just needed to drop the word full period. It may have been operational, but never fully!
