For those of you that are regular data-hogs and constantly need to keep watch over your cellular usage to help ensure that you don’t go over your monthly limit, a new free jailbreak tweak called Usage by iOS development team Hashbang Productions is available in Cydia to help you out.
To use the tweak, just go to Activator’s settings and select an Activator action that you want to assign to Usage. When you invoke the Activator action, a loading screen will appear and you will receive a text message from your carrier that tells you your cellular usage in the message.
If the loading screen doesn’t disappear when you receive the message, you can press the home button, then put the device to sleep and wake it up again (by simply pressing the sleep button twice) to get to a point where you can dismiss the loading screen. The text message will still contain all of the information you need to know.
The text message will tell you how much of your data you’ve usedand how many text messages you’ve sent. The tweak can be faster and more efficient than opening and signing into a carrier application, so give it a try. It's free!
