  • Pod2g Announces the evasi0n iOS 6 Jailbreak - Coming Soon!

iOS hacker pod2g has publicly announced the evasi0n iOS 6 jailbreak. In his Tweet, he references the evad3rs’ official Web site, evasi0n.com. The Web site includes a Mac OS X-like loading bar that tells us the status of the jailbreak, which as of this writing says, “We are in the process of finishing the GUI. Come back soon!”

When released, the evasi0n iOS 6 jailbreak will support iOS 6.0, iOS 6.0.1, iOS 6.0.2, and iOS 6.1. It will also work on all of Apple’s latest iOS devices, including the iPhone 5, iPod touch 5G, iPad Mini, and fourth-generation iPad. A full list of the supported devices can be seen in our post here.

From what it looks like, the evasi0n jailbreak tool will support Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux. It needs to go through private beta testing after the GUI of the jailbreak tool is completed, which means only a select handful of people, most likely the hackers themselves, will get to test out the jailbreak before the official public release.

To use the evasi0n jailbreak tool, you will need all the following requirements:
    • 5 minutes of your time!
    • A computer, running Windows (XP minimum), Mac OS X (10.5 minimum) or Linux (x86 / x86_64)
    • An iPhone, iPad or iPod running iOS 6.0 through 6.1 (you may check in Settings / General / About => Version)
    • A USB cable to connect the device to the computer

Continue to refresh the evasi0n.com Web page for updates. We will continue to update you on the latest.

Not so sure about that, at least with porn I don't have to wait over 4 month for it to come.

Cydia will automatically store your SHSH long before the signing window on 6.1 is closed. No hurry.

      That would be terrible!

I think my 4s wants an upgrade. It's been acting funny the past 2 days. It must sense the impending JB. Either that or it knows my 5 is coming tomorrow and is jealous

Cydia does not always save your SHSH. Most of the time it will but I have seen where it has missed some firmwares for people. Best to always save them yourself as well with tiny umbrella or redsnow.

Hmm. Okay.. I have never had it miss a single one on 4 devices in 2 years. There's a first time for everything. Lol!!

So, your iPhone 5. It has 6.0, 6.0.1 and 6.0.2 SHSH? And 4S has every 5.X SHSH?

My 4s only has 6.0.1 for example. I have 10 devices, and some are missing some.

Just putting this out there but I'm pretty sure you can manually submit SHSH blobs to Cydia using RedSn0w...

      I have a 3GS with 3.1, 3.1.2, 3.1.3, 4.0, 4.0.2, 4.1, 4.2.1, 4.3, 4.3.2, 4.3.5, 5.0.1, 5.1, 5.1.1, 6.0.1, 6.1. So it is missing 4.3.1, 4.3.3, 4.3.4, 6.0. Cydia must have fell asleep a few times huh lol.

Yes, you can. Not the point he was trying to make though.

What I meant by that was if Cydia isn't uploading them (which seems to be the case) then they can be done manually. Just offering a solution to the problem since my 4S is missing a few too:

No, since no one has Cydia on their iPhone 5 yet it would be impossible for the 5 to have any Cydia saved blobs since Cydia has to be "on the phone" for them to get automatically saved. And with a jailbreak that works on 6.0, 6.0.1, 6.0.2 and 6.1 - there will never be any need to have 6.0-->6.0.2. You'd never need to downgrade to them.
And 4S has every 5.X SHSH?
Yep! - Even the r1 version. And it has 6.0, 6.0.1 and 6.0.2. This has never been a problem for me through any phone. But YOU have worked with WAAAAAAY more phones than I have, Simon. But the blobs NOT getting saved automatically by Cydia is the EXCEPTION not the rule from what I read. And in my case - it's never NOT worked. I've needed to downgrade only twice - and I've been able to in the past. And I've never had TinyUmbrella ever.

And even if Cydia does miss one - it would likely never miss a jailbreakable main iOS - like 5.1.1 or 6.1. In short my experience teaches me that for 95% of us this doesn't need to be a worry.

Yes, we know what you meant. I already stated you can save them with tiny umbrella or redsnow (and redsnow has the handy upload to cydia feature you mention). We were just trying to say that you should not trust cydia to automatically save your SHSH everytime. Always best to save them yourself as well.

Cydia has my SHSH for my iPhone 5. Using the method aidanharris mentioned above with redsnow. I uploaded my SHSH weeks ago for it. Which is why using tiny umbrella the other day I was still able to save my 6.0.2 SHSH locally even though Apple stopped signing them. I just got them from cydia.
