  • Pod2g Announces the evasi0n iOS 6 Jailbreak - Coming Soon!

iOS hacker pod2g has publicly announced the evasi0n iOS 6 jailbreak. In his Tweet, he references the evad3rs’ official Web site, evasi0n.com. The Web site includes a Mac OS X-like loading bar that tells us the status of the jailbreak, which as of this writing says, “We are in the process of finishing the GUI. Come back soon!”

When released, the evasi0n iOS 6 jailbreak will support iOS 6.0, iOS 6.0.1, iOS 6.0.2, and iOS 6.1. It will also work on all of Apple’s latest iOS devices, including the iPhone 5, iPod touch 5G, iPad Mini, and fourth-generation iPad. A full list of the supported devices can be seen in our post here.

From what it looks like, the evasi0n jailbreak tool will support Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux. It needs to go through private beta testing after the GUI of the jailbreak tool is completed, which means only a select handful of people, most likely the hackers themselves, will get to test out the jailbreak before the official public release.

To use the evasi0n jailbreak tool, you will need all the following requirements:

    • 5 minutes of your time!
    • A computer, running Windows (XP minimum), Mac OS X (10.5 minimum) or Linux (x86 / x86_64)
    • An iPhone, iPad or iPod running iOS 6.0 through 6.1 (you may check in Settings / General / About => Version)
    • A USB cable to connect the device to the computer

Continue to refresh the evasi0n.com Web page for updates. We will continue to update you on the latest.

4g iPod is so old and slow JB would just make it even worse. On ios 5 it is slow too.

That's true, was just an idea and if there was a fairly decent list it could solve follow on type questions. All gd was only a suggestion. Was just thinking outside the (sand)box...

      I've got an odd question:
I updated both of my iPad 3s to 6.1 and one has the old App Store layout and the other has the new App Store layout.
      Does anyone know why???

Apparently it's has a bigger security issue than a regular iTunes. Don't ask me why
