  • TinyUmbrella Updated With Support for iOS 6.0.2, iOS 6.1

TinyUmbrella, a popular solution for saving and submitting SHSH blobs to Cydia has been updated Monday afternoon with support for iOS 6.0.2 and iOS 6.1.

I'll post more details as I get closer to completion. I have a feeling I'll be making at least some of the modules open source on either github or bitbucket.
With iOS hackers having today deemed iOS 6.1 as jailbreak safe, it would be a good idea to save your iOS 6.1 SHSH blobs after updating. There is currently no use for them on iOS 6, however if hackers do at some point find a way to use these blobs to your advantage, you’ll have been proud that you saved them. It's merely a precautionary measure.

Alternatively, you can also use the latest version of redsn0w to save your SHSH blobs and submit them to Cydia. Both clients support a Mac OS X and Windows version, so you can be selective over which application you want to use. Also, both clients work with every iOS device.

There is no reason why you'd need 6.0.2 blobs. The upcoming jb is for 6.1. That was the reasoning behind the late release.

No one knew for sure 6.1 was gonna be jailbreakable that's why everyone had to wait for the thumbs up from the envaders, lucky it was or else it would have been a problem for all the people who didn't get to save there blob because they were waiting for tu

The jailbreak covers all versions of iOS6 according to @planetbeing this morning.

Besides 6.0.2 was only iph5 and iPad mini. I doubt anything will ever be done for that release.

I still say it's best to be on iOS 6.1. It will not only have the least amount of bugs out of every iOS 6 release, but when jailbreak developers start making tweaks for iOS 6.1 because that's the latest jailbreakable firmware, people on iOS 6.0.2 and below are gonna complain because their firmware isn't compatible with the tweak. The same thing happened with Auxo. It's only compatible with iOS 5.1.1, and iOS 5.0.1 users are complaining about that now.

It pays off to stay away from legacy firmwares and to be up to date.
