iOS 6.1 Tweaks Passbook to Link Users to Passbook Apps in the App Store
The Passbook application that debuted in iOS 6 has been tweaked in today’s public release of iOS 6.1
to permanently display a new home page that contains a button that will link users to the App Store to view a list of Passbook-compatible apps. The new home page is entitled "Passbook is the simplest way to get all your passes in one place."
When you tap on the button, you’ll find yourself in the App Store, and the list of the applications that you find are all Passbook-enabled, allowing you to use Passbook to save coupons, passes, and loyalty cards right on your iPhone virtually.
The list includes well-known applications like the Apple Store app, Starbucks, Fandango, American Airlines, Target, Walgreens, Fly Delta, and many others. Users aren't limited to applications that support Passbook, as they can also find Passbook addons from Web pages like Coupons.com.
Under the title in Passbook, Apple gives users that might not understand the meaning of the Passbook application a nice little explanation of what the application does and how it can be useful.
