The National Rifle Association (NRA) has just released an application in the iOS App Store for people ages four and older to practice their aiming with multiple firearms. Dubbed NRA Shooting Range, you can grab the new application for free from the App Store starting today (link) – the application supports iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
The game puts a very heavy emphasis on guns, but that’s no surprise considering where the app came from. It comes packed with gun news, information about the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution, links to gun laws, information about hunting seasons, information about gun safety, and information about gun legislation.
Once you get past all of the boring stuff, the application is also a 3-D shooting range game that comes with three shooting modes – indoor range, outdoor range, and skeet shooting. You can also pick from nine different firearms, analog or gyroscope controls, and three different game difficulties.
NRA Shooting Range comes with Game Center integration, so you’ll be able to compete with your friends, however it doesn’t have support for the iPhone 5 and iPod touch 5G’s new four-inch display, which is quite saddening.
The game can be used to pass time or to learn something new about all there is to know about guns. That being said, it’s not a bad app. Check it out.
