Cellular iPad 4, iPad mini Inbound for China This Weekend
In recent weeks, Apple has dramatically ramped up its retail efforts inside of China. It goes without saying that a major part of this strategy involves the widespread availability of best-selling Apple products.
On Monday, Apple's buffet of available products inside of China was lengthened considerably. The Cupertino, California-based tech giant announced that the cellular-ready 4th generation iPad and iPad mini will launch in China this weekend.
Plans to release the cellular models of both devices have been in the works for months and were not expedited by Tim Cook's recent visit to China. Although confirmation of such is still forthcoming, China Unicom and China Telecom are expected to cover the new iPads upon their market introduction in China this weekend.
A press release from Apple out of Beijing confirms that the Wi-Fi + Cellular versions of the aforementioned devices will go on sale inside of the world's largest mobile community on Friday, January 18th. iPad mini and the fourth generation iPad are currently available in more than 100 other nations around the world.
In China, Apple says, the iPad mini and the fourth generation iPad will be available through Apple retail stores, the Apple Online Store and select Apple Authorized Resellers.
