Just back in August we showed you a jailbreak tweak dubbed MiniBanners Pro
by iOS developer Rudolf Lichtner
that would allow you to colorize your notification banners and choose where on the screen they would appear. It was silently removed from the Cydia Store right before the release of iOS 6 because of compatibility issues, however it's back!
MiniBanners Pro comes with a ton of customization options so you can be notified the way you want to be. There are many different kinds of animations, positions, and colors to choose from. There are also options for adjusting how the notification banners will react when they appear and you interact with them:
You can long-press on a banner to see a preview of the notification, swipe the banner to dismiss it, opt in or out of auto-expanding the banners, and enable a shadow effect. These options have always been a part of MiniBanners Pro and you can see a more in-depth look at the older options from our last look at MiniBanners Pro at this link
, however the new features that have been added to MiniBanners Pro are shown below:
The new features that have been added to MiniBanners Pro are code-named Moonshine and Chronos. The feature code-named Moonshine allows you to scroll through the whole message you have received a notification for. The feature code-named Chronos makes it so you have to manually dismiss the banner notifications rather than have them dismiss themselves automatically after a period of time. These new features will help in making notifications fit the needs of the user better than ever before.
In addition to the new features, MiniBanners Pro sees a smaller price tag with this re-release. Formerly $1.79, MiniBanners Pro is now only 99¢ and still retains all of the great features that users enjoyed before.
If you want to grab the re-released version of MiniBanners Pro, it's available in Cydia's ModMyi repository starting today. MiniBanners Pro is not compatible with Reveal, Bulletin, or NCQuickDismiss. MiniBanners Pro can only be used with an iPhone or iPod touch on iOS 5, as iOS 6 is not supported yet, nor is the iPad.
