'LockMemos' Offers a Persistent Memo Solution for iOS
For those of you that need a persistent reminder solution for iOS that does the job better than Apple's stock Reminders application, check out a new free jailbreak tweak dubbed LockMemos
by iOS developer zonofzin.
LockMemos is the gift that just keeps on giving. Instead of choosing a time or place to be reminded about something, LockMemos is going to keep reminding you every time you wake up your iOS device to the Lock Screen or every time you unlock your iOS device to the Home Screen – you ultimately get to choose between the two.
LockMemos won’t stop giving you the memo until you disable the tweak from the preferences pane, or delete the memo that you added to the text field in the preferences pane. This means the tweak is more persistent than Apple's stock Reminders application, because the Reminders application is only going to remind you about something once, or every day, as the most persistent increment the app offers. The preferences pane is shown below:
Just type in your memo in the memos text field, and then choose whether you want the memo to appear on your Lock Screen, or on the Home Screen after you unlock your iOS device. The Lock Screen provides faster access to information, however the Home Screen will provide the most security since only people that know your passcode (if you have one) will be able to see the memo after they unlock the iOS device.
LockMemos. Annoying? – Yes. Potentially a life-saver? – Yes. LockMemos is just annoying enough that it will get those with even the thickest skulls to remember things. The actual alert message doesn't go away until the user taps on the OK button, so the user will definitely see the memo.
Apart from reminding you of things, the tweak also makes a good surprise for your spouse, as you can install the tweak on their iOS device and leave a little love note that they will see each and every time they go to unlock their iOS device. On the other hand, they might also yell at you if they get annoyed that the popup alert keeps appearing on their display over and over... so it could go either way for you.
