  • iOS 6.0.2 Released for iPhone 5, iPad Mini

Apple has just launched iOS 6.0.2 for the iPhone 5 and iPad Mini. Interestingly, the update is not out for all iOS devices. It is not known if it will come out shortly, or if the update is only going to be for these two devices.

According to the changelog, the update simply fixes an issue with Wi-Fi on these devices. Itís also probably likely that the update fixes security holes that could be used as exploits for a jailbreak so itís recommended you hold off, unless youíve been experiencing Wi-Fi issues, if you've been waiting for any kind of jailbreak solution.

OTA (over the air) updating is not showing the update just yet, as we are only able to find it in iTunes. The update should be live on OTA updating shortly.

Just yesterday, Apple also released iOS 6.1 beta 4 to developers for beta testing, signaling that iOS 6.1 is nearing release. iOS 6.0.2 is now the latest public firmware.

Edit: iOS 6.0.2 is now available OTA.

Quite right. Jailbreaking is very bad. It makes your iPhone unstable and makes you susceptible to viruses and warts and it can also cause impotence.

I'm going to send a polite request to the site owners to see if they will now change their domain name to leavemyiexactlyasapplesays.com, which has a much better ring to it.

How much did you pay for iWidgets???

Last time I checked, it was free!!!

Stable software? It doesn't exist on this planet yet.

I don't see how it's possible to have 15 tweaks running efficiently on your device, let alone 60-70 on top of winterboard.. Tweaks eat up ram my friend and the devices tend to lag when there is not so much available ram.

WHY? There is nothing about a jailbreak coming so why not update.
Looks like jailbreaking is dead. Time to get Android devices.

Well this update allows you to jailbreak the device as I said earlier. Go ahead and update

Updated my ip5 to 6.0.2, It's been months since I had a jailbreak on former iphone the 4s and it was stable, no crashes. It would have been fun to tweak/customize the iphone 5 coz of the larger ram and fast cpu/gpu but we have no jailbreak coming up.

Modmyi is also affected by this as I only found out about this site through jb. No jb, nothing interesting in modmyi.

Using only official tweaks is the point - some of which are free. And several iWidget packs cost $ these days, King. You know that. But I should have stated 'official' tweaks as opposed to pirated.

      Nonsense.

Then you're not all that experienced with jailbreaking.

This is incorrect. Not all tweaks reside in RAM at all times.

      Pure fiction!

Yeah.. During non-jailbreak periods this place is dead. Iphoneforums.net is the place to be between jailbreaks.

Wow what is wrong with some of you. A jailbreak is coming.

Whoever updated to jailbreak your phone is a retard.

And the guy never said he paid for iwidgets. I never did. Tweaks are different.

Anyways yeah you might not know what the heck your doing if your phone is lagging. My 4s was awesome as I stated before.

Can't remember how many tweaks i have on my 4s and never had a problem with it. Love ran smooth all the time. With winter board themes or dreamboard themes. Like everyone said depends where ya git ya tweaks from.

True but tweaks do eat up ram significantly if they are not optimized/clocked to run efficiently.. Which is why I don't think you can run"efficiently" 60-70 tweaks. That my friend is simply not true.

He stated that he only used paid tweaks and was using iWidgets. That would imply that he paid for iWidgets wouldn't it?

Well, so far I can say, this thread is just wonderfull. Great fun. Thank's people
Just grabbed a nice cold vodka and waiting for more.

Anyway, I have i4, IOS 6.0.1, JB by Redsnow, right now I have installed : AppCent, Check, ColorKeyboard (using 2Unique keyboard) Fade, Mobile Substrate, ThemeIconMaker, Zeppelin, than iCleaner, iFile and off course Winterboard. Phone work's just perfectly. So, for those who have i4, go ahead and jailbreak your phones. It's tethered, I know, but just ask yourself, how many times do you have to reboot or switch off your phones. The only thing I am missing right now are more IOS 6 compatible themes. But I know they will come very soon.

My wife and I walked into the Apple store on Saturday, 8 December, and came home with two brand new 32 GB iPhone 5's - black for me and white for her. My black iPhone 5 was preloaded with iOS 6.0, while her white phone already had 6.0.1 on it. I think it's really a coin toss as to what you get in the store as it depends on how long it's been sitting in the store.

I can tell you that pretty much no store stock right now will have 6.0.2 on it. 6.0.1 is much more likely.

If you're holding your breath for a jailbreak, you're going to die of asphyxiation.
Sorry but you're breath smells like **** because you're talking out your ***.

This time last year we had Absinthe for 5. The devs don't even have a real jailbreak on their phones yet for ip5 on 6. They've only shown a 'failbreak'. And then the distance from true jailbreak on a Dev phone to a public release of an untethered JB is also a couple months. So we're in for a "long winter's nap", gang. Nowhere close.

And I agree that the devs will never release a JB for a non current version. It's not their pattern.

Heres the thing... If they work for apple, they surely know more exploits, or could create more. I think there will always be a way for a long time yet, it just might not be discovered soon.
